First of all Luisa, the apartment manager is a gem. Imagine arriving at the airport, fully exhausted from the trip, and being met by Simone and a sign with your name on it. Yes, Luisa has arranged the pick up for you before hand. Nothing like a long flight and no thinking to do! Dropped at the door, Luisa buzzes you up. There IS a lift. She greets you, shows you the ropes, and heads out. You find you are one block from Piazza Popolo, the north gate entry to Ancient Rome. Splendid.
First night, Pizza Re Restaurant is just up the street. Via di Corso. Busy, friendly place with the greatest wood oven pizza in town. Table clothes and vino. Tutto. Place is packed. Fun.
Back to the subject, the apartment is clean, simple, and white. The bathroom is big, the tub a jacuzzi, and the space heater is great in spring. There is a little door that opens onto a tiny balcony where you find the washing machine! Hooray! Luisa has the soap there.
She also has the kitchen entirely outfitted for cooking a good pasta meal and making a relaxed breakfast.
We found we used both bedrooms (each with a big armoire) to find a noiseless night if there was any weekend fun going on in the square. We arrived Saturday midday.
Luisa had arranged a reservation for us to have Easter dinner at a terrific palazzo in the Bourghese Gardens nearby. A great view of the city from our table. And wonderful food.
We had a great week. The apartment such a private respite. Bravo!
Beautiful apartment in an excellent location .The apartment is large and very comfortable for our family of four.We walked everywhere.Restaurants were plenty and steps away.Luisa, our host was friendly and very helpful .The only complaint we have is the washing machine in the apartment was useless as it was non functioning.
