Thanks for the great review Trudy. It is true that the penthouse is in a fantastic spot - especially in terms of strolling to all the site. It was a great pleasure having you stay!

“Lovely Roman apartment - best location, best views, best hosts!”

We loved our Rome "home away from home" - nice, quiet location in charming Trastavere, close to wonderful shops and restaurants, and easy walking distance to Rome sights. We were so happy to have such a lovely apartment to return to each day. The terrace and views were such a respite from the busy city. Martin, Elizabeth and Alex are a great team and so responsive and helpful with anything you need, whether it's something as simple as groceries or a taxi, to restaurant reservations and last minute tour plans. We are so glad we chose this option over a hotel, and we will most definitely return!

“Great Rome Vacation Spot”

Location of the apartment is perfect, quiet neighborhood with easy access to transporation, such as taxis, and within walking distance to various Rome sites. Local stores, such as deli's, supermarket, wine stores, bakeries, cafes and several restaurants in the area. Access to the apartment is via elevator. The apartment itself is well laid out, highlighted by a spacious terrace with views of the Vatican. The apartment was extremely clean, well furnished for comfort, and had lots of windows. Linens provided were of good quality, several appliances availble such as a washer and dryer. The host provides you with an app with information about the area which included suggested restaurants, acitivities and various other important information. When we arrived we were greeted by Alex, who was extremely courteous and friendly. If you are going to Rome I would highly reccommend staying in this penthouse apartment.

“Fabulous”
Reviewed 24 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

The penthouse apartment is stunning, well laid out and has everything you need. It is well located with excellent restruants. We had breakfast each morning on the terrace admiring the fantastic views. I would recommend that you explore the local area as we didn't realise how diverse it is until we were nearly leaving.

“Living like a local in Rome”
Reviewed 30 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

Mercanti is simply stunning! Wonderful memories of evenings and mornings spent lingering on a sunny terrace over fantastic meals cooked with local produce (try one of Martin's shopping orders, filled for you and left at the apartment - great value and a good starting point as no need to worry about the first couple of main meals or breakfasts). The views are awesome. Trastevere is a great area - easily accessible to just about everywhere if you like walking but lots to see locally if you don't want to walk too far. Communication with Martin and his team is perfect - fast and responsive and the add-ons (like the shop and airport transfers being arranged) take away any hassle. Can't recommend highly enough!

“Extremely beautiful location. A joy to return to each day after hectic tourist crowds of central rome.”

This property on the top floor, provide a beautiful vista of Rome.
You are so close to the Circo Massimo the Piazza Bocca della Verita ( mouth of truth)and the Victor Emanuele monument and all the old Rome sites.Lovely restaurants on your door step, and loads of space for kids to play in the quiet open Piazza S Cecilia. Beautiful church and much nicer to spend time in than the hectic Vatican . Lovely market each Sunday morning for clothes and nich nachs at Porta Portese, full of locals bargain hunting. There is a great walk/run/cycle along the banks of the Tiber just across the Via de Porto road outside to the right.Your nearest store is the Carrefour just of the Piazza S Francesso d'Assisi about 5 minutes walk away. There are several restaurants just beside the apartment, you can even get serenaded in Da Meo Patacca. The best restaurant we visited was La Fraschetta. The owners Martin and Elizabeth are helpful. The on site caretaker Alessandro Moruzzi (Alex) was very helpful with booking restaurants and taxis.

“Best way to feel "at home" in Rome!”

We had a wonderful week-long stay in Martin and Elizabeth's apartment in Trastevere, Rome, and enjoyed living like a local. The apartment is located centrally in Rome so you can easily travel to the attractions in central Rome or Vatican City, by either walking or reasonably priced public transportation. We shopped in local grocery stores and were able to enjoy wine/cheese/bread/olive meals on the wonderful veranda. Martin's guide to Rome was extremely helpful in getting us off to a running start so we could maximize our visits to attractions. I highly recommend the available car service to/from the airport as needed. The service provided by Martin, Elizabeth, and their manager Alessandro was top notch and timely. A five-star experience!
