“A convenient hotel”
Reviewed 10 May 2014

We stayed just one night in this hotel because it's so close to the main train station but the surrounding area is not the nicest. The hotel is modern with some interesting room layouts and designs, but the decor is dark and feels almost industrial. The service was good but walk further into Rome city to find a nice restaurant for dinner.

Dear Andrew,
thank you for your comment. It's a pity that you experienced our hotel just for one night and I hope that you will back again, also for tasting our panoramic restaurant Sette on the seventh floor!

Great room with view and design in a good location next to the train station. All sightseeing as Colosseo are in walking distance. Amazing roof terrace and spa place.
The friendliest staff I've seen in Rome.

Very nice experience! Specially in a city with such a classical style as Rome!
Service is great, the last floor is amazing, just like a boat deck!
The reception is also very beautiful. The rooms are nice and practical.
Great stay!

We stayed here during the Easter break using a Living Social voucher which was €452 for 3 nights in a superior room with breakfast, dining credit and a welcome drink. I would not pay anymore than this for the hotel. It is in a good location beside the Termini station but as other people mentioned the area has plenty of dodgey people hanging out around the streets if you go off the main street up to the station. We ended up staying in a Junior suite as we had an extra person staying with us. That extra person got a fold up bed unfortunately as the other beds were much more comfortable. The bathrooms do not have a door so the room is very open. The jacuzzi bath made up for this negative, we really enjoyed that. The toiletries given were very nice. There is a door for the toilet so don't fret too much! The room is very spacious with outdoor decking overlooking the central grounds of the hotel on one side and the train station on the other. There is a coffee machine in the room which was another highlight, very good coffee. My parents stayed in a superior room and were short on space, had no bath, balcony or coffee machine. The breakfast has everything you want - eggs and cooked meats to cold meats, cheeses, fruit and cereals. Plenty of treats such as prosecco, cakes and excellent cappucinos. Our welcome drink when we arrived consisted of a beer, prosecco or non alcoholic cocktail. Service was slow but we got nibbles while waiting. This should have been a warning for the very bad experience we had when planning to dine in the restaurant. We came back to the hotel at 9:30 after a day trip to Sorrento so decided to make a booking at 10pm in the restaurant. We were told that they closed at 11pm so that was no problem. When the 5 of us arrived at the restaurant we were seated at a dirty table, given no wine menu and my father was given no menu at all. After 10 minutes of being ignored after that we called a waiter and were told that another person would serve us. When we called that other person he made an unrecognisable grunt and walked into the kitchen. Annoyed by being ignored and feeling hungry we got up and left. The manager met us walking out but when we explained our reason for leaving she didn't seem bothered at all. Considering the prices on the menu (at least €24 for a main course) we expected much better service. The staff at reception were always helpful however and made us a booking at a restaurant near the hotel. When we got to this restaurant (around 10:30pm) they said they were closing and we were too late even with the reservation. Luckily there were several restaurants nearby but we were lucky to get served so close to closing time. This left us very annoyed with the hotel restaurant staff as in every other restaurant we dined in in Rome the staff couldn't do enough for you. Besides the restaurant service our room wasn't ready at 2pm as advertised, the furniture in the room was quite tarnished and the room itself a bit old which made it unlike the luxury you get in 5 star hotels at home.

Room Tip: A junior suite is 3 times the size of a superior room and has extras such as a Jacuzzi bath, coffee...

The hotel is fine, good breakfast, average service and very strange location of shower in the center of room. We stayed there as had special price and would like to live close to Termini. Next time will stay close to via Cavour.

Im a travel agent and try to only stay with Radisson properties worldwide.
I've always had great luck with them until Rome.

I dont know what they are thinking with these rooms! A small tube shower in the middle of your room, no counter space and the toilet behind milk glass. Sorry, this isnt acceptable. Who wants to watch someone else on the toilet!? We we're denied a different room and had to use the hotel lobby washroom while we were there.

Restaurant is too expensive for this location.
We never did find the pool as the staff didnt speak any english.

The neighbourhood is close to two metro stops and is away from the major tourist areas so it's a nice break from the crowds. It felt safe, even at night.

Seek out a breakfast place up the street called Milky bar for cappuccinos, freshly squeezed orange juice and pastry's made every morning.

The hotel was so-so, the rooms is why I gave it the rating I did.

Dear Ms. Spencer,
I am truly sorry that your stay was not so good.
I am sorry too that you didn't check our web site with all room images before reserving the hotel.
I just want to highlight that our bathrooms have a frosted glass but the toilet is behind a wall, so I want to assure all the readers that no one could see you on the toilet!!!
I don't understand how it's possible that you didn't find the pool: sitting at the resturant (expensive by your opinion) you absolutely can see the swimming pool. Can you be more explicit?
Regarding the location, it's 15 minutes away from Coliseum, Roman Forum and Circo Massimo, 4 metro stops from spanish steps, 5 from St. Peter: as you said, it's a nice footwalk.
If you will come back agaim, I'd like to suggest you another room typology.
Best regards

We experienced a great stay at the Radisson in Rome. The location is extremely close to Termini, THE station of Rome where the direct 30m train (Leonardo express) from the airport arrives, and where both Roman subway lines (A+B) cross. Easy to start all trips from there, or walk 10 minutes to Bici & Baci to rent your bicycle or Vespa.
This modern hotel has a nice reception, friendly staff and we checked in in just a few minutes. We had 2 very nice rooms (3rd and 5th floor), very clean, very modern, a great TV screen and a balcony (5th floor). Spacious rooms, nice furniture and a very good bed!
The breakfast is superb with an enormous assortment (salty and sweet), juices & fruits, fresh made cappuccino etc. On this floor (7th) there is also a nice swimming pool (we tried once on Sunday morning, despite the 17C) and a gym with jacuzzi.
The neighbourhood is not that different from other metropolis station areas and you have to be somewhat careful during the evening. Actually, we never felt unsafe here.
