Stayed at this hotel for a conference - it was the host hotel. The conference facilities were great - meeting rooms, etc. And we loved the rooftop restaurant and pool area.

The rooms, however, were odd. One of the walls was black and the floor was a black, rubber-like material with a green shag carpeting under the bed. The shower was in the middle of the room - zero privacy if you're sharing with someone (which I was!) And, in the shower was a string with an "alarm" pull on it! Not quite sure what that was all about!

Another oddity: we kept losing electrical power in the room - by the last day, only the outlet in the bathroom worked.

The hotel is very close to the train station, but the neighborhood, overall is not a nice one. In fact, on our first night there, reading our guidebook in the room, we were surprised to see our neighborhood on the list of "places to avoid in Rome!" That said, we didn't have any issues, as most of our activities were planned by the conference.

The restaurant was outstanding as was the service.

Overall, a good trip - just a few oddities with the rooms!

My husband and I stayed here June 9-14. The reservations were set up by American Express as part of a business package. A few of the wives decided to bypass part of the business tours in Spain and we took an earlier flight to Rome, taking the train connector from the airport. The hotel is located next to the train station. Our directions were inaccurate, and we walked a couple of blocks out of the way…not far, but far enough to see that we were in a rough area. We were grateful to finally arrive at the hotel. The initial impression of the hotel…the lobby, is almost comical. The circular check-in counter is made of a see through fabric... yes, fabric. There are a few solid surfaces to write on. The lobby felt cold, empty and cheap. The outdoor area off the lobby had a lot of dead plants and peeling paint.
Check-in process was easy, but the lobby personnel wasn’t welcoming in the least. We all went up to our rooms and planned to sit at the pool for a couple of hours prior to our husbands arrival. After experiencing the local seedy neighborhood and hotel, one of my co-travelers hated the hotel so much that she and her husband forfeited their pre-paid 2 night reservations and stayed elsewhere.
Our room was OK and clean. The carpet was gross, so I wore the complimentary flip-flops. There was a note that the water was complimentary, but it was NEVER replenished…for 5 days. The shower was set up in a way that it would be very dangerous for an elderly person, or anyone who didn’t have good footing. It was awkward to enter and exit, and there was nothing to hold on to.
The restaurant and bar staff was VERY accommodating and friendly…loved them. Drinks and food were overpriced, but that’s common in hotels.
If you’re paying out of pocket for a hotel, by pass this one. TripAdvisor has many with better reviews and lower prices. Our business group will be addressing the issues with American Express regarding this hotel.
NOTE to restaurant:
We have stayed at MANY hotels as part of a business group of 30-60 people. It is my understanding that this is the client your hotel is trying to attract. Since you can’t change your location here are some suggestions.
1. Have impeccable service. Replenish rooms of complimentary supplies…yes, even water.
2. I found it laughable that there was no concierge service. It’s ROME for goodness sake. Anyone coming on business comes to Rome to see some of the city during their visit. The desk staff gave us a map and bad directions.
3. The desk arranged a driving service to the airport. We specifically asked if we needed cash or if we could use our business credit card. Since we were leaving Europe and didn’t want excess euros, AND it’s much easier to use CC for business travel, it was important. They assured us driver would accept CC, but they were wrong. Really…Radisson Blu…you should have known this. You use this service for all your clients. DON’T GIVE THIS FALSE INFORMATION OUT TO ANYONE ELSE!
4. Lastly, lobby staff…seriously, you’re in the customer service business. Act courteous and friendly. A smile would go a long way…I never saw one from any of you.

Location: Really convenient location, even if the immediate neighbourhood around the hotel isn't pleasant, however we had no problems and didn't feel uncomfortable walking back to the hotel at 10 at night. It's opposite the Termini and less than 15 minutes walk to the Colosseum and The Forum, 30 minutes to the Trevi/spanish steps and the Vatican took around 40 minutes, however it is the opposite end of the city and there's always the metro.

Room: Room was pleasant, the cleaners did a great job, always clean towels and plenty of shower gel etc. The AC worked fine in our room too. Our room was the opposite side to the Termini so didn't have any issues with noise. However at the roof top pool (which is great in the summer) you could hear the train announcements, but it's not a major issue as we spent little time around there. Check out was easy and there was someone to take our bags to the luggage room. The receptionist said we could keep them there as long as we wanted, which was ideal as our flight was late in the evening and we were allowed to stay in the hotel public areas until our flight.

We did not find the area so threatening as some did. People of many races, but nobody bothered us. Easy access to much of Rome if you are coming by train. You are staying right near the station and also near another metro access on the other side of the hotel. The rooftop area is wonderful, nice fitness room, and our room was very clear. Yes, this is a hip modern hotel with clever but odd room layout--when it was new it was likely cutting edge. Less so now, but still fun. Still, for a central hotel we were fine with the boat theme (wooden floors, lookout decks) and the clever modern room.

We stayed here 4 nights on june 2014. Hotel is 2 min walk from train station but far from city centre. (about 30-40 min walk) Didnt like the area it was located (Chinatown). And were not happy about staff - one day cleaners forgot to leave clean towels, second day they didnt leave shampoo and shower gel. Hotel is old, electricity wasnt working 2 days from 4 we were staying. About positive - there is amazing swimming pool on the top of the hotel, breakfast was very good (the best I have had till now, even champagne!), girl at the reception allowed as not to pay for crisps we had from mini bar, room design was very modern (knowing that hotel is a bit old itself), our room had a balcony (great but view is terrible - inner yard of the hotel, windows from opposite rooms) We liked most of it but wouldnt pay that price for that room, location.

Room Tip: close to train station, super great swimming pool, great breakfast

My now husband flew me to this hotel as a surprise and proposed to me in the restaurant by the pool. the setting was beautiful with an amazing view. The food was excellent. When I first arrived had a small problem with my room but they quickly sorted it and compensated us with a free meal. I would definitely stay here again as it was a great part of a great weekend.

This hotel looks great on the website but stay here was the worst ever (my husband and I are frequent private and business travelers and even a 2 star hotel is better than this).

We stayed here one night in June 2015 as a pass through from our wedding before departing with the train. We had chosen it due to near the train and the way it looked on the website.

The main issues leading to me not recommending this hotel for anyone:
-quality/service lack: the AC had broken in the afternoon but upon our arrival at 11pm the issue was neither solved nor had they staffed to facilitate all the people complaining and seeking help towards the suffering (40C rooms without air, no fans available and the promised water delivery never happened). The staff on call had a very poor approach to us as guests when complaining and not refund was offered, which honestly should have happened on arrival knowing the status of the room. Also the breakfast area looked very fancy but the offering of food did not match price level nor the perceived appearance the hotel seems to seek. Our note on being honeymooners had been totally ignored. This hotel tries to appear something it's not!!!
-room design: the room we ended up in felt like a mix between a space ship and "low cost airline does hotel rooms" (shower behind the bed in the actual bedroom with just a curtain around it).hence don't trust the pictures!

Don't stay here!
