Owner description: The Museum in the beautiful setting of Villa Borghese in Rome preserves sculptures, reliefs and ancient mosaics, and paintings and sculptures from the fifteenth to the eighteenth century. The collection, made up initially by Cardinal Scipione Borghese in the early seventeenth century, preserves masterpieces of Antonello da Messina, Giovanni Bellini, Raffaello, Tiziano, Correggio, Caravaggio and beautiful sculptures of Gian Lorenzo Bernini and Canova.

Borghese Gallery located in the lush garden setting should be definitely high on any list of attractions to visit in Rome. We liked the sculptures and art on display. The guide gave us detailed explanation of the art and its history. Walk the gardens surrounding the gallery. It is like being in Central Park in NYC, green space in the middle of a busy city.

This was well worth it. You need to make a reservation to get in, but it is so worth it. The statues were life like. We took the audio tour and it was very informative. The park is also amazing.. rent a bike or surrey and spend an afternoon enjoying the gardens.

A day spent walking around the tree lined Borghese Park is very pleasant and a welcome relief from the bustling central Rome sights. Large park where you either walk, cycle, segway or buggy your way around, includes a small lake, zoo, cafes, etc.
To see the Villa Borghese you need to book a day and time. It is a collection of classical art and sculpture and a good tip is to enter at your time and go straight to the 2nd floor and start there leaving most people on the ground floor! If you don't do the Vatican Museums then I would suggest doing this instead coupled with a pleasant day in the park.

Loved the gallery. The park is gorgeous too. There's a flee market just down hill and the food and beer are awesome

Make reservations to see this place or you may not get in- you're alloted 2 hours with a reservation, but my husband and I did it in one. Be sure to check everything at the check-in desk before going in. Wasn't as big as we thought, but the artwork was beautiful.
