“Truly worth the visit”

Amazing collection of Bernini sculptures! Also loved the frescos on the ceilings. There is a lot to see in 2 hours but since only 200 people are allowed at a time, no crowds to worry about.

“Art History lovers will be blown away.”
Reviewed 4 June 2014

A treat for the eyes and souls. The Bernini sculptures and the Caravaggio paintings are worth the trip to Rome in and of themselves.

“Best museum I've seen”
Reviewed 4 June 2014

This was, hands down, the best part of our time in Rome. Every single part of the museum is covered in incredible artwork. The Bernini sculptures completely blew my mind. I have never really cared too much about sculptures, but I could have stared at them all day. Incredible.

“Don't Miss It”

Make sure that you book ahead to ensure entry on the day that you want. Absolutely wonderful to visit. Do some research to find out what works of art are there, they are all brilliant.

“Excellent gallery and tour”
Reviewed 3 June 2014

Even at its most busy, the Borghese offers a quiet reprieve from some of the hectic-ness of Rome. Most people seem to use the audio guide, but we opted for the English language tour, which was only a little more, and was worth it to me. I don't know if we just got lucky, but our tour only had six people! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the collection, and provided information not just about the art, but about the space as well (what the rooms had been used for, changes in them, etc.) I enjoy art and have taken some art history classes, but having a tour guide helped me notice more subtle details that really make some of the pieces impressive. The tour probably isn't necessary to appreciate the museum, but I definitely recommend it.
