Hotel Paba is extraordinary. Alessio waited patiently even though our flight was delayed and we arrived at about 2am. He greeted us with a warm smile and was amazing the entire trip. The rooms are impeccably clean and cosy as well as beautifully decorated. The hotel had access to wifi, air conditioning as well as a mini bar and TV with sky satellite. It is so centrally located you can walk a few blocks to the colosseum! I would highly recommend this hotel!

The building on busy Via Cavour was covered in graffiti and the entrance lobby, which serves the whole building, was less than inviting, but once we had mastered the ancient elevator (one of our favorite features) and entered the hotel we were pleasantly surprised. Alberta, who speaks very good English, mans the desk, and is a great source of information. The bedrooms are a decent size, somewhat old-fashioned, but very clean and there is AC. The bathrooms are outdated but functional and there is lots of hot water for showers. Breakfast is served in the room. It was disappointing: the coffee was the worst we experienced in Italy and the juice was strange (reconstituted?) There was a pastry each, jam and bread. This wasn't a big deal because there is good coffee, etc available in the immediate neighborhood. The hotel is situated between the Cavour and Colosseum metro stops, very close to the Forum and Colosseum. There are good restaurants and bars, a 'tabac' for metro tickets, etc., delis, and small food stores within a 100 meters. We walked to most sights, but having learned to navigate the metro on a day trip to Ostia Antica, we did use it again to get to the Vatican.

Room Tip: We had two rooms facing Via Cavour and were concerned that they might be noisy, but with the windows...

I requested a very late check in for midnight. After various flight delays we only got to the hotel at 2 am. The owner was still awake and waiting for us even though he had to get up for work in 5 hours and had no idea how long we would be. He was kind, understanding and even apologized that we experienced delays in our journey, he is truly a saint. The hotel might not seem much from the outside but inside is a hidden gem that you would not believe your eyes.

It's location is amazingly central and it's clean, beautiful, air conditioned and it has wifi. I am a seasoned traveller and trust me this is the best hotel in Rome.

With an owner who will go the extra mile for you, you know he takes care of his hotel.

This is a great location near the Colosseum and metro. Our room was absolutely quiet and clean. Alberta is the wonderful lady at the reception desk who helps with any and all questions. She delivers breakfast to the room in the morning at the time that you request. Our family member had traveled to Rome 2 years ago, stayed at the Hotel Paba, and recommended it to us. We were very pleased with this personalized hotel and would stay here again.

Hotel is near the Forum. Quiet and clean. The room was one of the larger ones we had in Italy - but that is not saying it was large. Staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was very good. I would stay there again.

My friend and I stayed at Hotel Paba for two nights. Alberta was very friendly and helped us map out where we needed to go. It's within walking distance of the coliseum. We actually walked here from the train station. If we had more luggage I would have taken a taxi. It's a bit of a hike. The hotel was clean and the WiFi worked great. The bathroom was small and the shower sprayed everywhere but I eventually got the hang of it. The view from our room was the ally, but we didn't spend much time in the room so that was ok. My only complaint is the bed. It was like sleeping on a box spring. I noticed the other reviews say the beds were firm. We barely slept for the 2 nights we were there. That is enough to make me not want to go back there. Everything else about the room and the staff was perfect.

Room and bathroom were larger than we anticipated. Impeccably clean. Elevator. Firm bed, which we prefer. Great breakfast delivered to the room. Can't beat the location. BUT the crowning jewel was Alberta herself. She went above and beyond being helpful without being intrusive. Recommended and made reservations for dinner and also taxis. Gave us pliers when our luggage lock wouldn't open. Found certain shops we were looking for. I think if I asked her for a foot massage she would have obliged :)

Room Tip: We asked for a quiet room and stayed in the Flower Room, right next to the Happy Family suite. No p...
