First of all, I couldn't disagree more with the "Cold Shower" review. We stayed at Casa II Rosario for five days the second week of May 2014 and ALWAYS had warm/hot water no matter what time we showered. It was extremely clean. The air/heat always worked, though we didn't need it. We kept the windows open during the night. While yes there are tourists that talk loudly in the courtyard, it is by no means a reason for a bad review of this place! People are there to have a good time, enjoy life and unwind with friends! The beds, while not perfect, were fine. This is a convent - a spiritual retreat to relax and unwind. Yes, there were issues with the WIFI and we were unable to get on the entire five days, but for $5E for a week, its not a big deal. We found a great cafe a few blocks away where we got free wifi, good breakfast and coffee - so no big deal. While breakfast wasn't the Ritz, read the reviews and what they offer. It was perfectly fine to get you through the early morning hours. No complaint. The nuns were helpful. While this was not your luxury hotel, the location was perfect for getting around and especially convenient to the Bus/Metro. While the trip to the Vatican was longer, it was by no means so far that is was inconvenient.
As far as just taking CASH, that is wrong also. You may pay for the room by Credit Card, as we did. Very convenient - maybe the person got someone who could not understand English that well, but credit cards are accepted. All you had to do is ask.
While there is no luxury here (no TV except one room where stations are limited, no radio, no phones) it was pleasant, good location, clean and very peaceful
