“Great holiday”
Reviewed 19 July 2013

I stayed at the Piccolo Borgo with my partner for a week at the beginning of July. The hotel was lovely, nice clean room, great pool and nice area to eat outside at night if you chose to eat at the hotel restaurant. Good choice of breakfast was available too. This hotel is a little further from the centre of rome (around 25min on metro) however the free shuttle service run by the hotel to the nearest metro (taking around 10mins) was great! It depends what your looking for, however I enjoyed staying that little bit further out of the centre and having the pool etc. The staff were all great and very helpful! The only downside was the noise from planes given that their is an airport close by, however this didn't bother us.

Nice Hotel, nice and friendly staff. Clean and spacious room with a nice small veranda outside. Good food in the restaurant. Only problem I had was that the door got stuck and did not open anymore. But this was fixed in one hour. And the French doors still worked, so I could get out.

We spend a few days at piccolo borgo and had a great time there. Our room nr32. was very big and clean with a private garden and our own tree. The staff was really friendly and the shuttle service is great. if you want to enjoy roma but like to have a quit hotel away from the fuus of the city, this is the place to stay.

we had one week in Rome at Picolo Borgo. The room nr.32 was big and clean with a small private garden with a tree inside. Only 3 rooms have private garden. The staff is very friendly; Virgilio is a very nice guy, also the driver Vali is redy to help you all the time and give you all the advise you need. The shuttle to metro station is OK, and you need 30 min to be in town. The pool is a plus and the restaurant is very good. We recommend this hotel as a 4 star hotel.

Room Tip: the rooms 31, 32 have a private garden of around 20 m2 (the others have a small patio).

We found this hotel through Trip Advisor. We wanted a place a little outside Rome to were not too pricy and that had a pool. The facilities are great. Nice room, great pool + pool area, nice restaurant. Good food and drinks at the restaurant and good breakfast. Just watch out, we were charged for breakfast even though we did not have it. Unfortunately the level of service was very mixed. The reception staff felt un-interested and was not very helpful. Poolbar/restaurant staff was great. So was the driver/handyman who helped out everywhere. The hotel operates a shuttle to and from Cinecitta Subway station. They run this by a schedule. Be aware that there is a break midday when the shuttle does not run. So if you do not want to take the local bus with loads of luggage, make sure to time the shuttle when you are checking in. It is easy to get to central Rome from the hotel. Get the shuttle to the subway and you are at Termini in 20 minutes. A taxi is about 25 EURO depending on the time of travel. The hotel is value for money and it was great to have access to the pool in the 30+ heat. I would come back but I hope that the reception staff has improved their level of service until then.

I stayed here with my Partner in January 2013, and really enjoyed everything the hotel had to offer. The rooms were beautiful, the hotel staff were exceptionally welcoming and helpful with directions and tips for seeing Rome, the hotel grounds and common areas were always tidy and clean. Unfortunately we didn't know the hotel had a shuttle from the airport, and the taxi had a little trouble finding the hotel - so definitely pre-arrange to get the shuttle to come pick you up.
We also greatly appreciated the shuttle to the metro station. We walked the first day and it took about half an hour, so make sure you pick up their timetable to reception and get the shuttle!
The breakfast was nice - mainly continental. I would have preferred some more bread and condiments, rather than sweet pastries. But overall was still lovely.
No negative comments, other than the long wait time for dinner one evening. There seemed to be a lack of staff, but we were happy to sit and talk.
If you feel like staying a little further out from the hustle and bustle of the centre of Rome, then definitely stay here.

Room Tip: Choose the more $ rooms, we wished we had a spa bath!

Breakfast was excellent with both hot and cold options, definitely worth the extra money. There was a free shuttle taking you direct to the metro station making travelling to Rome centre much easier and cheaper as it is situated approx 5 miles out. The time keeping of them was also spot on. The metro tickets can also be bought from reception at 1.50 euro allowing you to just jump on the train. This shuttle was also available for airport transfers for a small fee which was even more convenient, we just called them when we landed and they were there in 20 minutes. The staff were brilliant, very hard working, always helpful, and most of them spoke excellent english, we did not have any problems with the reception as has been previously reviewed they were always happy to help and greeted us every time we passed. The rooms are exactly as shown in the photos, cleaned perfectly everyday, very large rooms and bathrooms, own safe and mini fridge with water everyday, the private garden was also a really nice touch and nice to sit out on at the end of the night. The food in the hotel restaurant was as good if not better than the meals we had in Rome centre and very reasonably priced, the service was also brilliant and couldn't do enough for you. Overall one of the best places we've stayed in, would highly recommend to anybody thinking about travelling to Rome, this hotel is the best of both worlds. Lovely to come back and relax by the pool after a hectic day in The city. If I had to choose the only bad point was that the free shuttle ended at 09.50 at night so a late night in Rome was not possible, although it had later times scheduled at the weekends. But then again this is a free service so can't complain. If we ever travelled to Rome again this hotel would be 1st of our list as we loved every minute of our holiday, thanks to all the staff at Piccolo Borgo for such a perfect holiday!!
