If I had been staying for more than a night, I probably would have pushed for a larger room. The room was more than adequate, and the location is fantastic. The Wi-Fi was free, although the literature in the room indicated that the front desk would tell me the pricing - I just went downstairs and the clerk hooked me up.

It was very hot in Rome that night, and the air conditioner did a (barely) adequate job of cooling the room.

The included breakfast was in line with the price.

I would stay here again.

Rome was our 2nd city out of 4 during our honeymoon extravaganza. The first two nights we got put in the smallest and most uncomfortable room in the hotel. The door hardly opened without hitting the bed and because the door was steel you could only get wifi if you sat in the hallway with your door open.

After two nights of this cramped room we begged for them to switch us, and they did without hesitation. We then got placed in a nice room with plenty of space and proper working Internet access! Be sure to ask for a different room if you get placed in the corner cramped closet. The staff will gladly switch you!

Very close to the colosseum and multiple restaurants/shops.

4 of us needed 2 rooms for 1 night in Rome before flying home. Solis was very affordable, in a great location just a stone's throw from the Colosseum, rooms good size and staff very helpful. Before we arrived they arraigned car service for us to get to airport and made us a dinner reservation at a nearby restaurant I wanted to go to that didnt have a web site. Was even able to drive straight to it coming from the south without getting lost. We easily walked to the Colosseum, then the Jewish Ghetto and then Campo di Fiore. (though we did cab it back). Can easily walk to Trevi fountain and Spanish Steps too.If arriving at main train station is just off metro stop. Only negative is very small breakfast room. People were waiting for a table though frankly unless grabbing a bite before catching a plane (as we were) better to eat out. Is an excellent deli/pizzeria just to the left as you go out. Also a very locals heavy restaurant (La Cicala e la Formica) is just around the corner

This hotel was satisfying with the amazing location, literally the Colosseum is just a short walk away and the Trevi Fountain about 10-15 mins away and the Spanish Steps a bit further than that but the room was a bit disappointing. It was quite cramped (with the 4 of us) and dark so not really nice to sit in but fortunately you don't spend much time in it. Also due to the proximity of the hotel to the Colosseum it was easy to just pop back to the hotel for either a rest or pick something up or get some water etc.
The staff were very nice and one even recommended us a good pizza place!
However the breakfast was quite limited and the breakfast room was quite small (but could be expected for a small hotel)
All in all it did the job with the fantastic location!

We only needed an overnight stay in Rome, as my friends and I had an early morning flight out.

1. Surprised us all with how easy it was to find. The Garmin said we would be there in 15 minutes when we got off the Autostrada, and we were. Basically drove right to it!

2. Close enough to the terminal for easy return of the car. I wish I could say that about the signage to make the return of the car easy- but there wasn't any!

3. We were able to do a quick tour and see most of the highlights- with a plan to return another day for a longer stay!

Just a tip- we understood that the key card had to be in the slot for the lights to run- wish we had figured out sooner that that included the AC unit. It was a bit warm and stuffy in the room until about 4AM when the AC finally caught up to the heat.

Great gelato spot about 3 doors up the street too!

The pro's:
1. Great location!
2. Nice staff (When you could find them).

The con's:
1. They locked us in! At 8:30 in the morning! We couldn't get out of the hotel! There was no desk clerk in sight and so we spent about 20-30 minutes just hanging out in the lobby gazing longingly out the windows through the locked doors.
2. They locked us out! At 11pm at night! We spent about 45 minutes knocking on the door and ringing the buzzer to be let back in to the hotel, and wondering if we'd have to find somewhere else to sleep for the night - sans luggage. On the plus side, the nice waiter from the restaurant next door also came to help us pound and shout and we made a friend.

Summary: We would not stay here again.

We found the location of Solis to be exceptional - just a short walk to the Colloseum, whilst offering great value accommodation. We travelled on a budget so our rooms were not enormous, but they were definitely comfortable and beautifully clean. We did sneak a peak at the other rooms too, and they looked big and roomy. Part of the deal was breakfast, which we expected to be basic, but it exceeded expectations. Juices, meats, cheeses, yogurts, cereals, breads, eggs, teas, coffees, jams, croissants - all well presented in a small dining room. The staff could not have been nicer - arranging all sorts of things for us and even negotiating a great taxi rate back to the hotel(they probably do this all the time, but we were grateful)! I also managed to leave some items there, and I am hopeful that they will return them to me!
