Hotel Aventino is a delightful hotel, set in tranquil gardens in the pleasant Aventino area. Rooms are attractive and very comfortable, with traditional decor and modern bathrooms. I've stayed there many times over the years and on my last visit, I stayed in the delightful tower room with views over the trees to villas and the distant hills. The roof terrace is a nice place to sit in the evening, and there are pleasant garden areas around the hotel as well. The staff are extremely helpful and the ambience is as welcoming as it is beautiful.

My wife and I stayed at the hotel in September and found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and comfortable and the décor was fabulous. The hotel was set in a leafy suburb a couple of metro stops from the centre of Rome. There are a few restaurants within a 5 -10minute walk. As we were embarking on a cruise we were not looking forward to carrying the luggage to and from taxis to the railway station , we were then told of the shuttle service which took us from the hotel directly to the ship ( a great service) All in all a fantastic stay and also a very impressive breakfast.

The hotel is situated in one of the most leafy and green areas of Rome but the rooms can be variable. The main building rooms are nice but those in the annex are not. Service is good and receptionist is very helpful with booking restaurants and recommendations. The Testacio area, which is just downhill from the Aventino hills has plenty of good restaurants frequented by local Romans, at prices slightly lower than those in the Piazza Navona or Trastevere.

Dear Guest,
thank you for your positive review about our property!
The Staff and i are really pleased to know you enjoyed the Aventino hill and our garden!!
The rooms in the main building are the most charming..some with terrace and spectacular view.!!
The annex is definetly ..less fashinating but it has more competitive prices, suitable for those travellers who want to enjoy our exclusive and residential area and a good hotel service, with a limited budget..
We hope you will give us the pleasure to host you again in our Hotel Aventino.!!

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for a week in early September. When we arrived they gave us a beautiful room, and two days later, upgraded us to a room with a balcony! The rooms are clean, quite, and beautifully designed. The garden patio is great for relaxing after a day of sight seeing.
The hotel staff were very helpful with any questions we had regarding dining, sight seeing, and little historical facts about Rome. We really enjoyed our time at this hotel, and would not hesitate to return to Aventino with friends and family the next time we visit Roma!

My husband and I just returned from a 4 night stay in Rome at the Hotel Aventino. The staff, particularly Justino and Stefano at the front desk, were incredibly helpful and friendly. The hotel is clean and quiet. It is located in a residential area which felt very safe. It was a quick walk downhill (about 5-10mins) to the Testaccio neighbourhood where there are plenty of coffee shops, pastry shops and restaurants, shops and grocery stores, and a local market for food and household items/clothing and shoes. It was a great experience to stay in Rome and to see so few tourists! We primarily heard Italian in the Testaccio and Aventino area, although almost all, especially those working in the shops and restaurants, spoke fluent English. It was about 15 mins or less to walk to Trastavere, and approximately the same (via a different route) to reach the Jewish Ghetto area in Rome. The Aventine Hill has several gardens which offer wonderful views of Rome and several churches. We were able to take in a free classical concert at one of the churches one evening which was wonderful. The breakfast included yoghurts, cereals, breads, pastries, meats, cheeses, fresh fruit, teas, and coffees/cappuccinos etc. There was plenty to choose from and the service was good. There is a lovely terrace/garden at the front entrance where you can sit for a coffee or a drink or just relax. We very much enjoyed our stay here, and would happily return again.

The hotel is in a lovely location, very close to the famous "Keyhole" of the Knights of Malta. A short hike down the Aventino hill to reach public transport and/or sights (and back up when you return). But if you don't mind the walk or welcome it, it is a great place. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful and the breakfast is very good and quite substantial. The garden rooms are quite dark, so probably best to get a room in the main building on an upper floor.

Our family of five stayed at Hotel Aventino for three nights and had a wonderful time. The hotel is situated in a quiet, historical residential area and walking distance to the Forum, buses, and subway. Just a few blocks away are fantastic vistas of Rome from a secluded park overlooking the Tiber and all the hustle and bustle. The facilities were spotless and beautiful. Breakfast was complete and more than adequate. The staff were FANTASTIC - very helpful and friendly. The only bad part of our stay at Aventino is that it wasn't long enough!
