Dear Mr Stephen, thank you very much for your comment! We are very happy that Americans appreciate our "light and sweet" Italian breakfast.
We hope to have you here as our guest again.
Greetings from Rome
Nice hotel in a great location around the corner from the Spanish Steps ...
Room was very spacious with a nice roof top balcony.
Very clean Hotel and would definitely return.
The service was also very good.
Thanks for a great stay!
We arrived here early afternoon on Friday 29th November & left Sunday 1st December 2013,
We went to Rome to celebrate my 30th birthday this hotel is great! The staff were very friendly & helpful, the room was very big and spacious the bathroom very modern, very clean hotel the breakfast was a continental style Buffett lots to choose from, lots of sweet treats! Fantastic if you have a sweet tooth! I can not fault the hotel at all perfect location right in the middle of everything shops, restaurants, cafés, bars, famous landmarks. No bad points from our point of view only thing that I would change would be that it would be nice if there was a kettle for coffee/tea making in the morning other than that was pretty much perfect ideal hotel for guests who wish to be in the heart of everything! Also ask to go to the roof terrace the staff will take you up, the view is amazing!!
Dear guest, thank you for your precious comment!
All our staff wishes you a very beautiful Christmas and a happy new year, and we hope to have you as our guest soon!
Hotel Cecil is a excellent hotel, I loved my stay here, its so central!
The staff were warm, friendly and professional, breakfast was filling a great start for a day of exploring, the room was cosy and clean and overall we had a very memorable and comfortable trip to Rome! :)
Dear Guest, thank you very much for giving us a five star comment. It's always a great pleasure to have guests like you, who regard us as a top hotel.
We hope to see you again at our hotel.
Cannot praise this Hotel highly enough the staff were excellent, very kind, very helpful.
the room was clean & bright the bathroom was. Only downer was Wi-Fi kept losing signal & couldn't reconnect for a few minutes, but that is the only negative. The continental breakfast was good plenty of variety, probably could do with reviewing the toast facility, as the current toaster is slow and could some morning build up a queue. The location was great & central for the Spanish Steps & Trevi Fountain. Plenty of shops roundabout also great variety of café/restaurants within walking distance.
thank you so much for you feedback and for the advises that you gave us. they are always helpfull to improve uor business.
We hope you come back soon at Hotel Cecil!!!
First of all: a review like this typically fixes in on problems, but let it be said that in the end, we enjoyed our stay (although we would look for another hotel be next time).
The LOCATION of the hotel is great, just off the Spanish steps (picking freely, I‘d stay even closer to the historical center, but Cecil is still a short walk away from the center).
The quadruple ROOM had enough space for four people; this is not a design hotel, but the room had a light and well-kept interior. I put a bag on top of a cupboard, that was a mistake, I got at least a years' worth of thick dust when retrieving it, otherwise, cleaning was OK. But the keys constantly stopped working, rather annoying to have to have it fixed all the time.
WIFI is free, luckily, as it was almost unusable in our room. Sometimes available close to the floor, pretty good in the hallway outside, neither perfect for answering emails...
SERVICE was great, always smiling and helpful, could hardly be better.
But then there's the BREAKFAST. As Norwegians visiting Rome for the sixth time, we know not to expect too much, but this was still sadly disappointing. In the country that "invented Parma", you'd expect at least something resembling ham, or cheese, or whatever. But here it's sweets, cakes and sugar all around. Trying to resort to eggs, we found them boiled to a color of green so far thought impossible by science. The coffee hadn't heard of Italy, and the juice would be usable in chemical warfare. Afraid to say it competes for the worst hotel breakfast ever.
we remember your very nice family. We are quite surprised by your comment, as we we try our best to make our breakfast pleasant. But Italian breakfast is not as big as a lunch. Everyone is always content with our cappuccinos.
If with 'centre' you mean the Roman Forum, then it's one thing. But we assure you that our hotel is in the very centre of Rome. Your compatriot, the writer Ibsen, stayed here for several years.
