1.5 kms from Roma Termini.....long walk....the streets are not suitable for rolling luggage.

The nearest Metro is Manzoni......1 km.

The breakfast is very very basic.

The staff is very good and tries to solve every request that you have. The rooms are good compared to the price you pay. The location is very good only ten minutes from the Coloseum. Very close to the metro.

After a little confusion at the reception to check into our room, we were told to walk 100 metres down the road and check into hotel 0 ? A very nice lady showed us our room which was very clean and located at the front of the hotel. We stayed room only so can't comment on breakfast. The hotel is situated near the bus/train/tram termini so easy enough to walk to. The location itself is a little run down but didn't bother me. I suppose some people would be put off by this as there are a lot of run down cafés and bars so a lot of people hanging around. Maybe I wouldn't walk around there very late at night. We stayed there for 4 nights and if I was lucky enough to travel to Rome again, I would stay here again.

We were booked there as part of a tour and it was awful. Mold on the wall, years worth of soap scum and mold in the shower and on the shower curtain. It was NOT central to anything, crappy location but the desk staff told you it was walkable, it was not. Pay wifi is okay, but you should actually get the service once you pay for it. The beds are old and you roll out of them. I agree the breakfast was fine, a bright spot in an otherwise bad place.

It is confusing even to find this hotel. Reception is in a building and hotel in another building. The hotel has not elevator. The room is cold and dark (window-blinds can not be open-->room is dark all the day). There are not sufficient light bulbs in the room-->room is dark during evening. The receptacles for electricity do not work properly-you must move the connector till you can recharge your mobile-phone. Mechanisms of windows do not work properly. It is difficult to open and close the windows. They have not soap in the bathroom and supports for hygienic paper . They invite you to buy soap from the nearby shop. And all of these for 70 Euro/night !.

After reading a few reviews about this hotel at first I was in two minds, after all I personally did not chose the hotel, we were reallocated by our hotel company to this hotel after some mess up at a different hotel. So I was really sceptical, I was really worried that we'd end up in some horrible room, in a horrible part of the city & would be really disappointed.
HOWEVER...
We arrived in Rome early from our flight, we knew check-in was not until about 2pm, but we thought we would go to the hotel just to drop off our bags. After walking about 15/20mins from the Termini station, we arrived at the hotel at around 10:30am. On the outside, looks very nice & inviting. Stepped into the reception area, it was nice, décor was nice etc & was greeted by a nice receptionist. Gave our details etc, & then surprisingly she told us our room was ready. She passed us the key, we went to our room, situated just off the reception area. As I put the key in the door I held my breath, after all the reviews I was expecting something terrible...
WOW, I was amazed with the room. We had a twin/double room, the room was very clean & looked newly refurbished. It was lovely! It was reasonably sized, TV & mini fridge. Bathroom was also a good size.
Breakfast was served on the top floor about 7am-10am. Continental, ham, cheese, scrambled egg, selection of croissants, cereal, tea, coffee & juice...but it was just what you needed to start the day in my opinion. No qualms about breakfast.
We stayed for 4nights, peaceful sleeps. The other reviews mentioned about hearing the trams go by outside. Personally we heard the trams but it was not loud enough to disturb us, maybe this depends on where your room is situated? There was only 1 problem about being in a room just off the reception area, the noise from other guests checking-in/out, but once again, not enough to keep you up all night.
In regards to the walk from the Termini station, at first is was a little daunting, it is part of the city that appears a bit scary, but we had no problems. We found it better to take the Metro from another station nearby (Manzoni) & the walk to/from here was pleasant, plus it was a little bit shorter than the walk to/from Termini.
We had a great stay, no complaints, no problems & was extremely happy with the hotel, staff & service from start to finish. If you are use the Hilton or Radisson hotels then of course this isn't the place for you, but if you are just looking for a clean, nice, friendly hotel then I definitely recommend Hotel Centre 1. Please do not be put off by the other reviews.
