From the minute you step inside the Dom hotel you are transported into a magic oasis with exquisite furnishings, tasteful & origin art, music that transports you into a chilled out bliss & service that is five star and impressive on every level.
The Dom reminds me of the beginning of Hotel Coste in Paris when they got it right. But Dom achieves much more than Coste as the room as enormous with high ceilings, frescoes and too many wonderful details to list. To know the DOM you just have to go. Put on a sexy elegant dress, have a glass of champagne in the fabulous bar with candles & book a table & prepare to eat food that hits all 5 senses perfectly. This hotel is not merely 1000 thread count sheets & pillows that are just perfect this hotel is a "lifestyle". If you get comfort, style, ambience & service then DOM is for you. Book a suite, have breakfast in bed & remember that "living well is the best revenge". And thank Antonio and his staff for making you feel like a pampered & welcome friend in absolutely the most fabulously perfect hotel in Bella Roma... Grazie Mille, K

Moody and dramatic interiors yet very tastefully decorated. Very friendly obliging staff, sumptuous textiles, bedlinen and towels. Everything was perfect except our one night stay was way too short.
Ideal location too - would definitely come back.

we were a group of 19 and the hotel did a excellent job in providing us the services from taking care of our everyday requests. The front desk staffs are very helpful, friendly just lovely to have them looking after us. Overall everyone of us are very pleased during our stay at the hotel. Location is great good walking distance to many good restaurants and shopping. All the rooms are very lovely and well kept by the house keeper and her group of every well dress lovely house keepers. Keep it the good work!

This hotel has everything to be a success: wonderful location, beautiful interior design, lovely staff on the operational level, that's why it is even more disappointing that they cannot deliver a 5 star experience. Yes, it is a newly opened hotel, but this is not a first 5* one for the owning company, so that was I decided to go for it, even though I usually wait for reviews before I book.

The location is charming - a narrow cobblestone street in the heart of the city. The building outside looks discreet and stylish and the interior design is impressive - I love and appreciate modern luxury without going overboard, yet still plush. The doormen and the receptionists are both very professional and charming and we were off to a good start.

However, things went downhill from there. It may not have been that much of an issue in a different type a hotel, but this is an approx. 450 euro a night establishment, things should be pretty much perfect in every aspect if you ask me.

First of all, the rooms are advertised as soundproof. Let me put it this way - if you close the shutters, you hear less noise, that's about it.

WiFi is advertised as free. It however fails to mention anywhere that it is for ONE device per room. Seriously?

There is no info booklet in the room. There is no room service menu. We called as we wanted to order some food and it turned out that there is not just no menu in the room, they don't have any room service menu at all - but if we say what we want, they might prepare it for us. No comment.

We arrived in the afternoon and wanted to go out for dinner, so we requested an ironing board and an iron as the place we were heading to had a dress code. Guess what? there is no iron in the hotel for 'security reasons' and all you can use is an external company with a charge of 60 euro for what I needed ironed (one dress and a few shirts) and could do myself in about 15 minutes. Hell, I could even go for that even though it is a rip off, but you need to wait 24 HOURS for your ironed clothes to be returned to you. They finally somehow ironed the shirts for us for free - if you can call that ironing as they were all creased nonetheless.

The next day, the guest relations manager talked to us and told us completely different story - that there is an ironing room in the hotel but the iron was broken and they didn't fix this due to the Christmas holiday. Well, first of all, the duty manager the day before said they did not have such room when I asked, and even if they did, it was 28th December, plenty of time to solve the broken iron issue. Overall very awkward.

To compare, in the next hotel we stayed ( yes, we left DOM after 2 nights) and the hairdryer wasn't functioning properly, I got a new hairdryer still in the box within 10 minutes. That's what I call Service.

This place is simply not ready for the customers. But I will not be back to check if they improved.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
In the heart of the papal and aristocratic Rome, the D.O.M is a brand new luxury hotel, set in a 17th Century aristocratic palace. Its position in Via Giulia, one of the most iconic streets of the city centre, is very convenient between Piazza Navona, Piazza Farnese, Trastevere e San Pietro. The hotel D.O.M is the perfect pick for those who want to savour the architectural beauty and the artistic treasures of the rive droite of Rome, far from the mainstream tourist routes. The hotel emanates the atmosphere of an aristocratic household, a unique combination of sacredness and luxury: the ambience is enriched by numerous design pieces and works of art. In the elegant restaurant the original Andy Wharol "Ladies and Gentleman" serigraphs will surely catch the eye of the guests. The cocktail bar, cosy and small, reminds the old American speakeasy bars. The 18 rooms and suites - all overlooking Via Giulia - offer absolute comfort: they combine contemporary touches, among which design vases and pictures and paintings by various artists, with authentic period details, such as white wood coffered ceilings and decorative brick walls. Some have a living room area, mirror TVs, cashmere and silk carpets. The hotel's spectacular roof terrace, which smells of rosemary and lemon, recalls the Dolce Vita times: guest will be able to enjoy an aperitif or to read one of the hotel's library books in perfect relax admiring the roofs and the churches in the Regola borough, facing the green hill of Gianicolo and overlooking the ancient Roman archaeological site of 'Stabula Augusti'. ... more   less
