When this was under previous ownership as the OP the standard of customer service was great. Sadly on my last stay, just this week, as a Novotel, I was decidedly unimpressed. The rooms are the same (freebies in the room of lower quality for sure) but the customer service in the restaurant, or requesting room service (as a business woman travelling alone and arriving late) was non existent. Having phoned down for a room service menu (what hotel that boasts 24 hrs room service fails to place menus in the room) and after 30 minutes visiting reception to ask for a menu, the Maître d, ignored me, went about his business and only then unceromoniously handed me a restaurant menu. When I asked 'Is this the room service menu he grunted yes and walked away, leaving me with the impression Room Service was definitely NOT in the menu. It got worse and no sooner as I had decided not to have room service and settled down for the night, I had two phone calls from reception, the 2nd waking me up.

At breakfast (07.45) I found congealed scrambled eggs, all the fruit gone and no butter. I politely asked for some butter to go on my 2 slices of toast to be told 'no butter, all finished' to which I replied 'this is a hotel, right?' But my sarcasm was missed. Overall, I will not be returning to this hotel and I will be suggesting that my company and visiting colleagues stay somewhere else. This is a real shame and I mourn the passing of the OP where I had many a great stay.

Staying here for business, can't praise it for too many things. The internet is for free and has strong enough signal, but still many of my peers had some strange issues with it.
The interior is modern, although it looks a bit too simplistic for a 4* hotel.
Nevertheless, the restaurant is completely opposite to all this. During the week I spent in Rome, I tried several good restaurants (always recommended by locals), however this one beat them all, in terms of both taste and quality of food, as well as the presentation. Truly remarkable! The only downside was the speed - the food was coming a bit slower than usual. Still, it was worth waiting!

Italian service is something I have not yet got used to. The body language of staff can be very strange, appearing to be not interested and bordering on rude sometimes. I could smell the smoking guest in the room next to me, and the quality of the WIFI was below average.
but...the restaurant of OP Hotel is one of the best kept secrets.
It's a pity it is a long walk from the hotel to the nearest metro station or this would be the perfect value for money. It is walking distance to a huge shopping mall.

Stayed for 2 nights on a weekend. We arrived early in the morning and they gave us a room with 2 queen beds which was incredible (almost a free nights stay) The rooms were very clean and the staff very friendly and knowledgeable. You can take the 777 bus directly in front of the hotel to the metro palasport to get anywhere in the city! Would 100% stay here again from the value!

Room Tip: Ask for 2 queen beds!

A pleasant and comfortable hotel with a modern design and decor. Funky art and furniture adorn both public spaces and bedrooms. The beds are 6 feet wide and comfortable, with an abundance of pillows and cushions. Complimentary toiletries are limited but sufficient. Like a lot of European hotels, there are no facilities fro making tea / coffee in the room. The staff are very friendly and helpful, giving a more personal feel to the hotel compared to other hotels of this size. The bar area is large, with access to the outer courtyard with its Rattan furniture. It provides good space to work, catch up on emails, chat to friends or watch A.S.Roma playing on the large plasma screen.

The hotel is best suited to business use due to its distance from the centre of Rome. However, the city can be reached easily by taking the 777 bus from directly outside the hotel and changing on the metro line B at EUR Palasport station. Allow 30 mins from boarding the bus to reach the Colosseum. Taxis to Leonardo da Vinci airport for International flights cost about EUR45 and take 20 mins.

There is an excellent shopping centre 5 mins walk from the hotel which not only has an abundance of high quality shops but also has a range of cheaper restaurants on the top floor.

I was booked into here by the organisers of a conference at the very nearby Ministry of Health. Having read the reviews, I was not too optimistic, but found it a curate's egg, and rather more positive than I had expected.
Two of the criticisms related to distance from the centre, and being soulless. In terms of the former, a cheap (3 Euro rtn) and relatively quick (35 mins each way) bus and tube trip brought you to the Colosseum. In terms of the latter, on both evenings, the restaurant was busy and lively, and whilst on the first night I had a rather uninspiring pasta dish, on the second I took the manager's recommendations and had an excellent dinner, and not the most expensive. Serving a complimentary glass of prosecco to all was a nice touch too.
More negatively, the breakfast was very ordinary - easily the poorest 4 star offering I have had; and the internet connection process a pointless confusion, which even the friendly and helpful staff agreed was the bane of their lives too.
So in summary, better than expected, but probably wouldn't choose there unless working next door again!
