“Family Owned Inn - They care - A Lot!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

Marco & Giuseppe and the rest of the family running Hotel Golden were fantastic! They showed us all the hot spots to visit while we were in town, recommended some fantastic (small & charming) restaurants that were off the beaten path and tourist free, and provided a safe and friendly place to stay! Our accomodation was more like an apartment then a hotel room. Great space with room to spread out - great location too. Coffee was good and breakfast was plentiful & varied each day. Our hosts were happy to arrange transportation from the airport to their hotel and from the hotel to the cruise port for us - which saved us worry and a headache! Thank you for everything - highly recommended for those who want an "authentic" stay in Rome vs. a big American named hotel!

My family and I stayed at the Hotel Golden for three days during a recent trip to Italy. Being family owned and run, with them living on premises is a huge benefit. Someone is always available to help with questions, etc. In a city like Rome, "local" knowledge is immensely beneficial, and in this case we had access to a 24/7 supply of it! Talking through things with Giuseppe probably saved me an entire day by helping us navigate the city efficiently. Rooms are immaculate, let me repeat, immaculate. Attention to detail is paramount, as well as fine taste in interior decor. The hotel just emanates "sharp and smart" from the moment you enter. The buffet is tremendous. My wife couldn't stop smiling at the thought of the hot milk for coffee in the morning! Mama cooks up quite a little feast every day. Location... absolutely perfect. I would never stay in another part of the city - you can walk anywhere, and yet it's just far enough away from the hustle and bustle to feel calm at night. The hotel is in a classy neighborhood, right next to the largest park in the city, and close to plenty of great restaurants. The cost of the stay for the quality of experience is absolutely wonderful. Now that I have just re-read what I have written, I am realizing there's no way I would want to stay any place else the next time I am in Rome! Don't hesitate to book the Hotel Golden, just go ahead and do it!

Room Tip: We stayed in the family suite, which was luxurious and elegant. Rooms were huge and ceilings were ve...

Loved the hotel's location. The service was exceptional. Everyone was helpful and kind. The transportation recommended by the hotel was reliable and economical.
My room was small but adequate and very clean. The price was great.
Everything was fabulous!

Overall a very pleasant experience. The concierge, part of the family too, was exceptionally helpful and the breakfast was deliciously prepared by the mother. No problems whatsoever. Location of the hotel was reasonably well placed to visit the trevi fountain and spanish steps.

This is a great establishment run by a family that really makes you feel like one of their own. Everyone was extremely hospitable. We were 2 girls travelling from Singapore and I arrived late due to a missed flight and the staff kept asking my friend about my status and when i would arrive! We had one of the smallest room due to it being the only one available during the peak season in July but it was good enough for both our needs. Good variety of channels and comfy interior. Two very commendable things I would say about service were that due to me missing out on the highly raved about breakfast, one of the staff (a brother) made sure I got to taste it on our last morning by keeping some croissants/buns in the room nicely covered. Very sweet gesture indeed! The other thing was when I accidentally left my phone on the last day before checking out and travelled all the way to Venice & Florence without it, the staff ensured my phone was kept safe for my return on the last day as i would be departing from Rome (and thus returned to the hotel a final time to bid farewell). They were all so nice we even left them a thank you card! Truly a wonderful and safe haven in Rome, made our stay memorable. We will definitely recommend it to all our friends from Singapore.

We spent one night at Hotel Golden and received great advice on where to go and what to do with our one afternoon in Rome. The hotel is convenient to the big sites of the city, and was clean and friendly. Our room was just right for our family of four. What really made the stay was the friendliness and restaurant recommendations. We would definitely stay here again.

It was a great experience when we were there July, 2014. The first great memory was when we opened our curtains and saw a 2,000 year old statue of a Roman man outside our room. He didn't look a day over 1,000. It was nice to see him every day. The proprietors made us feel like family and helped us plan our day sightseeing. The room was clean and the breakfast was the best of all the other hotels we visited those 2 weeks in Italy. We ate too much homemade tiramasu, but no regrets. This is a nice, clean hotel run like it is a bed & breakfast with it's personalized service.

Room Tip: Room 110 overlooks the statue
