“Great as a base to explore rome”
Reviewed 17 June 2013 via mobile

The host was very kind- giving us a complimentary bottle if fizzy for our honeymoon. He also recommended to visit negumbo on ischia for our future travels- it was amazing! The sunset Roma was a great location to see the sights of rome and the local restaurants, bars and cafes were superb and reasonably priced- for italy

We loved the location of this hotel. It was so fun to explore the Monti area with its authentic restaurants and shops. It is also within walking distance of the major sights. The street that it's on has a great view of the Colosseum. Amenities were basic as expected. The double room was large and even had an extra bedroom area that we used as a dressing room. The shower was great. The owner/receptionist gave great recommendations when he was around. The view from our room was lacking.

An ideal place to visit, (right in the center of Rome, with 5 mins walk to Colosseum, 10 mins to the Trevi). A welcome pro and personalized advice which allowed us to taste the best of the Italian food. Wa had a clean and nice apartment. In the spring an accommodation of charm, as high as our expectations for our first visit to Rome.

My son (11 yrs) and I loved it. The guest house is located very central in a good and slightly hip area. The owner was helpful and recommended us great restaurants and bars for breakfast. We had a nice, very clean and quiet room, we slept fantastic! We can really recommend this place.

Location was amazing, right in the centre of Rome, with 5 mins walk to Colosseum, 10mins to the Trevi Fontaine... Very good hospitality, reception was very friendly on both arrivals and departures. The apartment was very modern, very good space, and great showers.

Myself and my mother visited Rome and chose the Sunset as our accommodation. On arrival we were welcomed warmly and given a map of the best restaurants, tourist attractions and bus schedules within the city. After being helped with our bags to the room (we stayed in the apartment), we were shown how to use the facilities in the apartment all of which were in perfect working order. The street was quiet, the room was very comfortable and the building is very secure and safe. This was my third trip to Rome and the Sunset is the nicest and best located accommodation I have stayed in yet. I will go back to Sunset time and time again and would recommend it for anyone visiting the city.

Room Tip: Elderly people should request a room on a low floor to avoid the stairs, not a problem for anyone el...

Location was the only plus. No amenities or service. The checkin guy gave us 4 eating recommendations, 2 were closed down (1 was right around the corner!). We called the desk twice to get wifi and a converter, both times, were told everyone was sleeping and we could not get help. Beds were HARD. Paint on walls peeling, no alarm clock, pen, or coffee pot in the room. The worst was that no one ever even asked about our 4 night stay, they did not want the feedback in person. Off season guests are not a priority. Hold out for better.

Room Tip: Our room faced the inner courtyard, which was dark. The actual room had no sunlight, felt like a ce...

Andrea T, Direttore at Sunset Roma Guest House & Suite, responded to this review, 21 January 2013
Dear Guest, we are sorry your stay did not satisfied you. We remember to our Guest we are a Guset House, not an Hotel. It means that some of usual Hotel services are offered in a different habitual way. All information can be received by extention phone in the room and also during the day at reception desk. Who is answering he remembers very well to have given you a converter as soon as you required it when we were in the reception area and not by phone. As regards no charge wi fi password you asked at 2 o'clock a.m. after two days of your arrival at Sunset on four of your stay. Of course who replied to you specified we are a Guest House and that kind of request can not be given in the middle of the night. I still remember very well the morning of your second day stay and the compliment on me for excellent restaurant that I suggested the past night, Nino restaurant, do you remember? Wake up, pens, coffe and tea kettles supplied on request, but not in the dead of night. As regards mattress we supplied the hard, unless different request made in advance at the moment of your reservation.
