“Lovely time at a very nice hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 May 2014

I've just returned from a three night stay at the Piram Hotel. When I initially looked at the reviews on TA I was filled with dread. However, I didn't find anything that was as bad as people had mentioned. The menu for the hotel was strange, fish and vegetables, however, if you asked for something different they were more than accommodating. I asked for Chicken and it was no problem for them to do this. Breakfasts were very nice.

Our room was lovely, view not so good overlooking back of hotel next door but I wasn't there for the view from my room. There was three of us in the room and there was more than enough space for us all, and all our paraphernalia. Beds reasonably comfortable. One of us slept on the bed settee which was more that suitable.

You could walk to the Coliseum in about 20 mins from the hotel and about 30 mins to the Trevi Fountain. We took the open top bus tour to see the other sites as there just wasn't enough time to do them all. We unfortunately chose one of the busiest times to visit Rome. Herded like cattle everywhere when viewing the various monuments. In the previous two days to our visit the Vatican had had 60,000 people viewing it, our Guide had never seen anything like it. However you can't legislate for that. WATCH OUT for taxis outside the Vatican. Cost us 9 Euros to get there and first price we were quoted to get back was 38 Euros!!! eventually got it for 15 Euros. Don't accept the first price, keep walking until you get what you want.

Bar staff in the hotel were lovely, recognised us when we went in and always talked to us.

One thing strange, when you go in the normal lift, it advertises nights when the piano player is in the bar, we went down to listen to him only to be told that was last year! Why put the notice on in the lift every night? Spa also wasn't open so can't comment on that.

I would recommend this hotel, especially loved the old fashioned lift :-)

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights, the first hotel in Italy and it was a great experience for us. The front staff are so friendly and helpful, always a smile on their face and ready to assist with bags.

The room was very clean and neat and ample space for bags storage, rooms were cleaned daily. Breakfast was great and the widest range in all of the hotels i stayed at in Italy. The bar staff as well, oh so friendly and ready for chat which my husband and i loved.

Hotel is very close to Termini train station, the reason why we chose this hotel. Walking distance to the Colosseum as well. Free wifi which is always an added benefit.

Would definitely stay here again on my next visit to Rome.

The hotel is located very close to the train station, which is how we arrived. The bus & metro station are also right there. Upon reception we were given a map and information that was very helpful for our stay. Room was clean and met our needs. Upon check out they agreed to store our luggage, unfortunately our iPad was stolen during that time, so I would caution anyone else about doing this.

This hotel is in a perfect location near Roma Termini. One is welcomed by the helpful multilingual staff into an old fashioned ornate lobby. The rooms are spacious, quiet and freshly decorated. The night we were there it was rainy and miserable so we chanced the dining room. The food was excellent, the menu was flexible and the service was very obliging. If I have to overnight in Rome again this is where I would stay to ease the pain of being in Rome. Unlike most of Rome this is a centre of exceptional service.

We stayed here in mid March as we came to visit our son studying in Rome this semester. Our primary focus in finding a reasonably priced hotel in Rome was a close location to public transportation. Welcome Piram is one block from Termini Station where you can catch the metro, city buses and trains to the airport or anywhere out of town. We did all those things. It is a great location and worked well for us. Being one block off the main drag also meant it was pretty quiet for being so close to the heart of the city. Our college age son stayed with us for three nights so we had a large room with two double beds. All wood floors, very clean and neat. Hotel staff were pleasant and helpful and spoke much better English than my poor Italian. The hotel has a bountiful hot and cold breakfast buffet with a wide variety of options. We also ate dinner one night in the hotel and had a very nice meal and great service and conversation with our waiter. Plus there is a gelato shop at the end of the same block. What more do you need?

It depends on your hotel requirements, but if all you want is somewhere to sleep at the end of the day visiting the sites then here will more than suffice. The rooms although smallish have all that you require, bed, clothes storage, mini bar, safe bathroom.
Staff are helpful and location is just around corner from station and metro.

We had an enjoyable experience while at the Piram. Everyone was very nice, rooms were big and clean. Walking distance to the colosseum and other amazing tourist attractions. We arrived on Easter Monday so the city was pretty crazy but by Tuesday many of the crowds had cleared out
