“Nice hotel, good position, but poor internet connection”
Reviewed 20 June 2014

Very good position in a quiet street very close to Termini, junction to busses and Metro. Nice old-fashioned furnishing. Good breakfast. Kind staff. The only thing to complain about is a very poor and slow internet connection, hard to get to work.

We booked this hotel as a family of five who wanted just one night in Rome at the end of an Italian holiday. Obviously we did not want to be far from the main attractions, and budget was also important. This hotel perfectly fit the bill. We were able to have a double and a triple room for about £55 each, including breakfast. The rooms were a decent size, nothing fancy but very clean, comfortable beds, large showers. We even got two small muffins placed on our pillows at night!! We were about twenty minutes walk from the Pantheon, by the railway station, so fairly central. Also there were many small and reasonably priced pizzerias and restaurants within a five minute walk. The breakfast buffet was varied, with all the usual elements of hot food, pastries and meats and cheeses, juices and hot drinks.
The staff were also very pleasant, and also arranged parking for our car, which was picked up and dropped off for €38 for 24 hours-a great service.
All in all, a very pleasant hotel for a night in Rome.

Great European (Italian) hotel. One and a half blocks from the Termini (main train station). No problem pulling your wheeled luggage to the hotel. Nice lobby area, reminded me of The New Yorker in Manhattan or The Palmer House in Chicago but on a smaller scale. An elevator is present to move you and your luggage, but it is not the size of a North American elevator. The room was spacious (double room). The rooftop patio has a great view of the area and a nice relaxed atmosphere. The serving staff were gracious and English is spoken. The room included a buffet breakfast, which was beyond reproach when compared to other European breakfast settings (fresh pineapple, fruit salad, scrambled eggs, bacon, mini hotdogs which they referred to as sausages, 2 types of orange juice and North American and European coffee. Restaurant opens for supper at 7pm, food is very good and reasonably priced. We didn't make use of the rooftop hot tubs. I found the room prices reasonable when compared to hotel rooms in other major cities. The hotel is not over the top opulent like the newer North American hotels as, like other European hotels, the makeovers have been completed on existing buildings and these buildings are older than most in North America. Easy transportation to and from the Fiumicino Airport.

Room Tip: Our room was an inside room and had no appreciable view of the outside world. If you want a view, y...

Lovely hotel in a great location. An old style hotel but spotlessly clean. Breakfast was lovely and the staff at the front desk were more than helpful.
The only complaints I had relate to the roof-top area. Their website advertises a roof-top hot tub and solarium. However it makes no mention of the 10euro charge per person to use the facility, even at 6pm in the evening.
Also when ordering a drink at the roof-top bar the only menu they offer you is for the Apotheke bar which is in the basement. They serve the exact same drinks but there are huge differences in prices which they don't explain until after you order.
So the glass of pinot gringo which was advertised as 5euro cost 8euro when I went to pay for it. It would not take much to publish a new and accurate price list for the roof top bar so people know what to expect.

Only stayed for one night but brilliant location. A few minutes from station and walking distance to Rome's many attractions. Plenty of restaurants in the area. Room was absolutely spotless. Loved the marble floors and period furniture. Air conditioning worked a treat.Desk staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good too. Unfortunately didn't have time to check out the rooftop area.....maybe nextime.

The hotel had mixed reviews, but it was in a great location for what we needed (easy access to the Termini). The room was clean, the shower was a little bit odd and made a sound like a shrieking phoenix after about 45 seconds.

There is a great rooftop patio with a bar that was nice to sit at when we needed a break from walking around the city. The staff at the front desk were very helpful and the bar was nice with great staff as well.
