“Stop-over in Rome”
Reviewed 19 July 2014

This was a nice, cheap alternative to a hotel while spending one evening in Rome. It is family run and they are very friendly and informative about the city and everything nearby (supplied free maps and directions to landmarks). It is very close to Termini, which made it very easy to get to from the train from the airport (runs every 30 minutes, 14 euro/pp). Breakfast was OK, but I'd highly recommend visiting a local coffee shop to get your fix if you are a tourist.

Pros:
-Cost
- Free Wifi
- Will hold bags after check-out
-free breakfast
- A/C
-Friendly and knowledgeable staff

Cons:
- Small elevator
- No bathroom access once room is relinquished.
- Early check-out time (10 AM)

Room Tip: There are two rooms that face a courtyard versus the main road and are much quieter.

I accidentally pushed the button for this when I meant to push the one for another B&B in the same building. The man who answered was very rude, sarcastic and condescending about my mistake. Being only human, I didn't like this and would not spend my money here on a bet.

The men who get answering was not LA CASA DI AMY staff member but a guest
could be so angry for the wrong call done
better is to put attention on reading the correct name of the hotel next time and I think that is so strange that tripadvisor put some rewiew of a person that was'nt in my hotel as guest
hope to see my answer on top
Kind regards

Let first of all set expectations for a European hotel in an old area of town. The elevator and the bathroom are going to be small. Be OK with it. What makes a difference in this place is the kindness and humility of the owners. Their attention to detail was amazing. They left fruit, drinks and snacks in our room free of charge. The place is very close to the Termini station, so reaching the Vatican or the Coliseum or the airport is no problem. There is a laundry across the street, and reasonable shops and restaurants in the area.

However mostly you are made to feel welcome by the wonderful owners of La Casa di Amy. Our 2 night stay in Rome was brief but great because of them.

Very pleasant spot in an area of Rome where you may find dozens of 'hotels' where I would not dare to put up at. It is simple, it is clean, it serves a decent breakfast, it is family operated and it is NOT a hotel. So if you expect amenities of an hotel you should book one. We enjoyed our stay for three nights there and I would definitely return once back to Rome for a visit. The part of the street where it is located is also relatively calm for Roman circumstances.

As soon as we we walked in the door and were greeted by name by Mika we knew we had made the right decision to stay here. A very short walk from termini makes this easy to find in a bustling area. The rooms were delightful with the added bonus of a bottle of prosecco, and a fridge stocked with cold beer, chocolate and soft drinks. 24 hr free wifi, Toiletries and new slippers also supplied makes this little B & B dream that it's a hotel. Breakfast is a homely affair, self service in the kitchen on each floor. Continental, with a selection of cheese, cold meats, fruit and bread varieties and cereal, keep you going. There is a small lift which is very welcome after a long day walking around the sights. I would definitely recommend this B &b and stay here again should we revisit Rome

Room Tip: We had rooms facing the street, which as we live in the country, could be a noisier in the morning w...

La Casa di Amy is a very friendly hotel. It is about a 7 minute walk from the Central Train terminal. Ask any uniformed official to direct you to Via Principe Amedeo and just walk. The streets are easy to follow. Just look up at the first building you see on entering each different street. Bus routes can also be accessed from next to the Central Train Station.
I chose the hotel as I travelled from North Italy by train. I seldom used the bus as I walked everywhere.
The hotel is family owned and run. It is private and comfortable.
Family and staff are very helpful. Ask for a street map, if you have not already been given one.
Breakfast will keep you going for most of the day.
Michael

Room Tip: Just ask at Hotel reception. I had a room on the second floor.
