“Very nice B&B”
Reviewed 11 February 2014

Gli Artisti is a very nice, well priced B&B, on a very short walking distance from the Vatican and metrostation Ottaviano, at the upper floor of an old Roman building.
We stayed in the yellow room; it had a private entrance. Impeccably clean, very quiet. Bed, bathroom, everything was okay.
In the breakfastroom is a little kitchen (with refrigerator) where you can make coffee, tea and have a free snack. The breakfast is typically Italian: just coffee or cappucino, juices, sweet rolls en bread to toast.
We lunched and dined several times at the Vito e Dina-restaurant, just on the opposite site of the road. Their pizza's, pasta's, and red house wine are great. Try the bressaola-rucola-parmesan-pizza!
We would definitely recommend Gli Artisti!

If felt like home. It truly has this cozy atmosphere, which I suspect it comes from the fact that it is a family business. A smile and willingness to help were always there, from the moment of arrival until the departure. The room had wonderful details such as the ceiling with fluorescent paint which gave the sensation to fall asleep under a starry sky.
I truly recommend Gli Artisti and I'm really thankful to the family running it as it made my time in Rome much more wonderful.

I lived on Via degli Scipioni for ten years and when I returned to Rome recently I wanted to stay in a B&B near my old apartment. I chose the B&B Gli Artisti for its location and charm. It exceeded my expectations. The place is immaculate; the breakfast abundant with yogurt, juices, breads, salumi, fresh coffee and real cornetti, as well as bottled water and snacks all day long; the Wi-Fi and local phone calls free; the rooms decorated artistically; the bathroom modern; and the ceiling in the Gold Room fantastic. Yes, the ceiling. At night, when the lights go out, the ceiling turns into a twinkling night sky. Gazing at the stars and lying on a memory foam mattress was a unique way to end the day. Then there are Alessandro, the owner, and Cinzia, his assistant, who are genuine, generous, and genial, who go out of their way so that your stay in Rome is wonderful. Although I didn’t need advice on where to go or directions, they were always there to give a hand. The B&B’s location is exceptional: 100 metres to the left there’s the Ottaviano Metro stop, and 100 metres to the right there’s the No. 23 bus that takes you to Trastevere. You could also just stay in the Prati quarter. Within walking distance is “L’Archetto” for thin-style Roman pizza, “Il Sorpasso” for excellent wine and food at super prices, and the Trionfale market for fruits and vegetables and also for interesting sightseeing. I felt so special staying at the Gli Artisti, and felt lucky that I had discovered a B&B that really should be classified as a “Boutique B&B”. Whether you have or have not been to Rome, this is the place to stay. See you next year Ale and Cinzia!

Gli Artisti is perfectly located! Within walking distance to the Vatican and the metro station (but you can pretty much walk to everywhere)... It's clean, comfortable and very unique. Cinthia (one of the staff ladies) is so nice and helpful and Alessandro (the owner) is so funny and kind. I would definitely stay here again and/or recommend it to a friend.

I and my husband have stayed in the Gli Artisti from 8 till 11 october. Everything was perfect: room was very clean, cozy, with the best and anusial design. The great bonus is a location of the B&B. You can reach every place in the centre of city by foot. Also I want to thank Alessandro for his amiability and hospitality! And thanks to Ciara for perfect coffee every morning! Rome is one of the best place for visiting and Gli Artisti is tne best place to live in Rome!

We had all we needed here for a wonderful stay in Rome. it is located near the Vatican, but also 2 minutes from the Metro which means it is an ideal base for getting around the city. We were in the pink room which was excellent (a really comfortable bed, quiet, and all facilities you need) very clean, with towels and sheets changed every day.
Chiniza was so welcoming and helpful, practising her English (as we did our Italian) as she served breakfast - an excellent continental choice of food to get you started for the day. She went out of her way to help, even providing breakfast early on our departure day. Free water and fresh fruit were always available to take out, as were use of the kitchen and refreshments after a long day walking around Rome.
Overall, a comfortable place where you can happily relax, - we strongly recommend this accommodation

Beautiful decor with mosaics, comfortable bed, v. quiet, central to Vatican & shopping centre, perfect hosts. Help yourself to breakfast food all day. Highly recommended. Bear in mind it's on the 4th floor, you take the lift at the back, and there is no sign at street level.
