Lots of contikis and buss outs stop here. Great place to have a party with other young people. It has it's own supermarket, computer centre and night club (with cheap bucket cocktails). Had a blast here! Only downside was it was about 20minutes outside Rome.

First of all this place is a hike from center of Rome! You have to wait for a bus to get to the metro station (sometimes wait times were more than 15 minutes, and the bus ride is 15 minutes or more in traffic), and then it's about a 20 minute ride in the extremely hot and crowded metro. So if you are going to stay here, be wary of this.

As far as camping sites go it wasn't bad. But be warned that it is mainly catered for young travellers on Topdeck, Contiki and Busabout coach tours, hence it has a big party vibe, which might not be your thing if you are after a quiet family holiday. The pool area is big, there are all sorts of parties happening every night (toga parties, traffic light parties etc), the food in the restaurant was pretty good, the mini market was pretty good value for money and the supermarket across the road was fantastic. There is free wifi but it's extremely slow and almost non-existent during peak times. I stayed in a 2 person cabin and it was surprisingly very spacious and clean. But the walls are thinner than paper and cabins are so close to each other so pack your ear plugs. Not bad value for money if you are looking for something cheap and don't mind the distance from the city center.

One of the biggest benefits is, really close to Rome city.
The problem is, it seems to be mainly booked by younger students from US. This implies party all night long. This can be a strategy to get young people from oversea to this place. This results in the fact, the europeans, which can go there quickly, will keep this in mind and finally are not matching with the crowd on the campground. In the end looks elsewhere to stay in the future. Like ours

Great bungalows. We stayed for a week because it was close go Rome city and the sights. There is a public bus that seemed come Round every 20mins but there were about 2 busloads of people waiting to get on in the mornings that we ended getting the Vatican shuttle from the camp sight. It was 2euro return. It does not go to the Vatican we found out rather stops at a bus station about 10/15min walk away. The metro is also right at the bus station. The camp sight has a small market in but it's more expensive across the road is a supermarket with everything you might need and m. Mcdonalds is a little further down (this is important if you have kids).
We loved that you could be in the hot city for the day and then come back to a relaxed camp site with pool. Admittedly the pool look like ALOT of people had used it it did get a lot of use but it was good enough for a quick dip at the end of day with the kids. Lots of young backpacker campers but the camp was good at keeping it quiet enough at night. Good family feel.

We chose Camping Village because it offered us great value as a family of 5 coming to Rome
We had 2 house tents next to each other and paid a little extra to have them complete
They are all placed next to each other so if a person 15 tents away sneezes you can say bless you !! But as seasoned campers this was ok
The site facilities are excellent and the pool was very welcome after a long hot day in Rome
There is an on site supermarket which is fairly priced although for a wider and cheaper selection there is a supermarket opposite
We cooked our own meals so cant comment on the restaurant
The showers were excellent
Getting into Rome is ok - its a bit hit and miss with the buses but for 1 euro its not bad value - our travel time ranged from 35 minutes to an hour
All the staff we met were really helpful and polite - mainly because we were too
At night the site is very lively and there were organised parties each night so dont expect a lights out campers at 10.30 but the majority of people are respectful of others
And here lies the but .....
Sad as it is to say whilst the Kiwis and the Aussies partied the hardest they were also very respectful if asked to be quiet especially as we had young children . Unfortunately the group of English lads near us were not
It was the only downside for us but it doesnt reflect on Camping Village
So for good value good facilities and on the whole great people - you could do a lot worse

Stayed here a few years ago while inter-railing. Was very cheap. 30 mins (bus and metro into town). Not having a central location was compensated with cheap transport into town, pool facilities and onsite bar and restaurant. Also, there is a very big supermarket across the road, which was very good. It is a great place to relax and unwind- especially if you've been trekking across Europe, staying in hostels in the big cities. Entertainment was on most nights, with a lively and fun atmosphere- unfortunately this stops abruptly at 12 and everyone is sent to bed by security guards. Though this early night is appreciated if you are staying in the tents as the morning sun is very warm and has you up bright and early! The camping site feels very safe. We were meant to stay here for 3 nights, but extended to 5 as we enjoyed it so much. 8 out of 10.
