“Great family resort near Rome”
Reviewed 15 July 2014

We stopped for a week in our motorhome & were very impressed by the facilities. The site is very clean and has all the facilities you would expect. The pools were great. The kiddies pool was more for toddlers and young children - don't expect big slides etc. The adults pool was a proper size.

Food on site is good and the staff are friendly.

You'll need to get a bus to the nearest Metro station (EUR Fermi), but that's easy as you can buy a combined ticket from sites information desk.

We are just back from our first 'camping' experience and I've stayed in worse hotels!!!

Not knowing what to expect and only expecting the worst I was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness and facilities of a camp site. We arrived very easily using the instructions provided by Canvas (although there are other suppliers on site) and travel is relatively cheap. Our check-in wasn't until 4pm but we arrived at 12 and were given full access to the facilities until our home was available.

my first impression was that it was huge but others have told me since that it isn't a particularly big site by comparison. my further impression was that it was clean. it is I assume well equipped for tenting in that it is well shaded by tall pine tree which have a tendency to shed needles and huge cones - these were continually cleared by a dedicated maintenance team and added to a pleasant tidy environment.

there is a large pool area with hundreds of sun loungers although not as many parasols which leads to a frenzy of 'booking' at first opening. we never had a problem with this getting prime spots each day despite not being 'first', there's ample space. Beside the lagoon (Babie's pool) and family pool ('deep' - 1.2m) is a café and bar that serves hot snacks and full bar.

The pools are great. They are well supervised by life guards - no balls/inflatables in the 'deep' pool makes it enjoyable for a cooling dip and the proliferation of balls and inflatables in the lagoon (.3m deep with non slip surface - great!) leads to a super fun experience for the little ones in your party (young and old included!!). There is also a small but wide slide for them to practise impressing you with foot surfing, spins and reverse slides.

As for the other comments regarding noise. There is an excellent 'mini-club' operated by an 'animation' team which in itself is a positive to keep 'minis' entertained (up to age 11, there is a junior and adult entertainment schedule too). There is a Mini disco operated everynight next to the Gelataria (centrally located) and finishes at 10pm so yes its noisey at these times but if you are travelling as a family this will be a welcome distraction.

Our accommodation was good with 3 bedrooms, BBQ, decking and a/c - a necessity! Well equipped and seemed fairly standard provision throughout all the providers - eurocamp, canvas, etc.

The site has a supermarket for 'essentials' which isn't extortionate but small, washing block and great eating outlets - Main restaurant (tasty but 'in-differen't service) at the front entrance to the camp with a separate huge bar area attached ( it was world cup at the time so was busy) and the GELATRIA - Yum! and the most reasonable priced we noted throughout our visits out of the camp. There's a reception to the camp site with info point, a separate tourist info office and 'souvenir' / 'non-essentials' shop (expensive) .

The camp is within easy access to transport links and close enough to tour Rome.

Room Tip: Don't know about rooms but there is a big 'PIM' supermarket close by (3rd road on the ri...

Stayed with eurocamp, vista villa with 2 beds, 2 bathrooms. Ideal for what we needed. Open plan static with effective air con!!!!!! Had a balcony and BBQ. Ideal for a couple and 3 small children. Well equipped. It was busy but you could find quiet in your caravan. Child club free. Excellent kiddy friendly pool made with non slip material. Reasonably safe slides. Pool cafe served reasonable food. A bit expensive I suppose. Table tennis, tennis, bungee trampolining, ropes course all available. Supermarket has what you need. There is a permanent campsite with families from Italy which some folk found strange. The place was extremely clean. Gelaterie ok. Oh there's minigolf too. Marking down a little as would've been nice to have a better variety of stuff to do but,the hol has made me reconsider euro camping more. Campsite felt safe and other campers v friendly.

Wow, really not sure how to rate this.

It is obviously a very nice campsite but it is a lot more!

It's like an island resort at the edge of Rome! If that is exactly what you are after then it will be all that you imagined! It has all the things than a resort offers; restaurants, great kids pool and adult pool (not full Olympic size), a market for shopping groceries, bungalows, cabins, tent spots, motorhome spots, you name it it has got it. It also has good facilities to boot.

To us it didn't feel like a traditional campsite that we like and are used to but it was convenient for us because it was close to where we had to return our motorhome. Price wise it was reasonable at 37.50 given we stayed at other campsites that purported to be what this place was but wasn't and paid more.

Great family place.

Reasonably quiet.

There was apparently transport into Rome though we didn't use it. There was also transfers to the airport which really isn't that far...

Top family holiday. Lagoon Pool excellent for children and nice deep adult pool. Staff and animation team very welcoming. Restaurant top quality and shop well stocked. Public transport links excellent and amazing value. Campsite spotless and quiet. Entertainment could be heard in evening but not unpleasant. We will be back!

First, the location is great if you want too see and experience Rome - that's the good part. The whole area attracts a noisy crowd where loud music from everywhere until late is a given. If you don't like loud music and people screaming into their microphones and you get located within 100-200 meters from the pool area you will experience a holiday in hell. If you on the other part have no need to relax and like to have a holiday without peace and tranquility - then this is the place for you. We are a family with small kids and this is absolutely our first and last time here

Amazing holiday here and family friendly... for real.
The site had lots of families, I wouldn't say it would be great for older teens although they do have sports tournaments but the kids entertainment took the main focus. The animation team did a great job each morning, afternoon and evening and we didn't think our kids would want to go but in the end they didn't want to miss anything! Rossela, Edi and Arije great job!
There is a shop on site from Conad a more expensive Italian supermarket but the prices are good, fresh bread and meat, veg, all the other things and impressively priced. There is a nearby supermarket you can walk 10 minutes too and the road is not that bad, even with a stroller and two daydreaming kids. Wider choice and slightly cheaper. We would recommend getting the €1.50 bus to the shopping centre, two stops away and going to the big supermarket there where prices were a lot choice and a great selection of everything. This mall also has loads of shops if you are a shopper and some fast food places for somewhere to get a meal out.
To get into Rome is so incredibly easy. Buy a €6 ticket (free for under 10;s) and this is valid for your bus, metro and trams, buses inside Rome all day. You get the bus, across the road from the hotel (probably the hardest part of the journey) and then get off at the last stop, get the blue line into Rome (on the platform in front of you) and then get off at the stop you want, Colosseum was about 6 stops in.
The information or reception will help you with anything and they also offer the evening trips and trips to Pompeii and Napoli but at €45 per adult this was out of our range for the time we had.
All the staff were incredible and although it was getting busy as high season started and the weekends definetly saw a lot of Italians around the pool there was always space around the pool. We got the transfer from the airport which probably is at the top end of prices and take care that the times work for you but Stefan the driver provided lots of great information and was really helpful. I made an error with the booking and the staff helped out and rectified it and couldn't have been more helpful or polite.
Highly recommend this to anyone. It is a mobile home and so small but the veranda outside is great and it was so clean and well kept. A lovely holiday and great value for being so close to Rome

Room Tip: there are a range of companies here. We booked direct with ECvacances but also Thompson, Eurocamp ha...
