this hotel was chosen for a school trip so I wasn't expecting much, the rooms were ok and clean I shared the room with 2 other girls in February, the rooms were very warm and a bit too cosy, what was disappointing for me was when the bathroom was too warm from showering when the window was opened the bar across the street could look in on you having a shower/ bath and although there was a shutter they seemed difficult to manoeuvre.
I lived though for four days so it was ok, sadly there was no Wifi.

Room Tip: Rooms generally away from the entrance.

The room was tiny for the amount of people staying in it. I went on a school trip so Ii wasn't expecting much but this was disappointing. The bath did not drain away so we had a bath of water sitting there all day and all night which meant nobody else could have a shower. The air conditioning was broken so it was really hot in the room which became unbearable after just the first night so much so that we had to have all the windows open and be kept awake by the traffic and metro outside. Also the bar opposite was really rowdy until early hours of the morning which also meant a rubbish nights sleep. The only good thing about it was it's proximity to the centre of Rome and the quality of restaurants nearby were good. The bathroom was awful it was dirty and the shower did not have a curtain so the water went all over your clothes and the rest of the room. Also when you were on the loo you had the put you feet in the bidet because there was the lack of room

The Floridia is in an ideal location. Rooms are an acceptable size and generally clean. The staff were quite helpful and able to solve any problems that presented themselves.

However, a drain problem made the bathrooms smell, also some rooms were extremely hot (heating on in April!) the inconsistency between rooms made it unfair that some students/staff suffered with significantly lower quality rooms than others.

Breakfast was a basic continental which again was perfectly acceptable.

The hotel was fine for two nights, but any more might have become uncomfortable.

Stayed here 15-19th February 2014 on a school trip to Rome. The hotel was as I expected, basic but clean. Our room was by no means huge for 3 people but as we were only in it to sleep and get ready this was not much of an issue. There was free wifi in the reception although connection was slow. Bins outside accompanied by a few rats. Rooms were also quite hot and the air con seemed to be broken. Would stay again on a school visit but not on a personal one. Shower also had no curtain but beds were comfy and breakfast was adequate as long as you like croissants, cereal and continental ham and cheese style breakfast. Fresh towels and bedding every day was also good.

Bed was reasonably comfy, TV worked, shower didn't have curtain which was annoying cause the floor gets soaked and the drain was crap, also bathroom light turns off after a while. Our fridge didn't work, neither did the AC so room was always boiling and uncomfortable. Stayed here for school trip. Also no wi-fi! Breakfast isnt too bad.

Having read previous reviews I was pretty wary about the Hotel Floridia. Granted there are two rather large dustbins right outside the front door (accompanied by a number of rats) and the facilities are rather basic. However, visiting on a school trip there was nothing to fault, it was exactly what we expected - a place to sleep. The added bonus of wifi, all be it rather slow, was a most pleasant surprise! The staff weren't great, but in no way rude. My only gripe would be about the showers, no shower curtains in the majority of the rooms, but mainly with the shower head itself. Being someone above average height, showering became rather difficult with the chin high shower head.
