I rarely write reviews of hotels we use during our travels. I'm doing this because my wife and I were very pleased with our experience at this hotel. It is located right outside the Vatican walls. It is an easy walking distance to many of Rome's attractions. The staff fluently spoke English and were very courteous and friendly. Irene and Fabiana at the front desk did their best to make us feel welcome. The hotel had a wide selection of hot and cold breakfast to choose from, which they varied everyday. Their baked goods were very good. Eva at the dining room even asked us if we needed anything that were not in the buffet tables. My wife asked for hot chocolate and I asked for sunny-side-up (they had hard boiled eggs and scrambled eggs at the buffet tables). To our surprise, she served both to us.

A group of 6 people stayed at the Alimandi Vaticano Hotel from November 5-7,2013.
First, the location was the right one for us. Second, the front desk staff, including the bell boy, was very friendly & helpful with directions. Third, the room & bath were very comfortable, very clean, & up to date. Fourth, the breakfast was exquisite. Fifth, the person in the laundry room was extremely kind & gentle. Overall, their service is better than any other hotel I have been.
Then we met the owner who is very gentle, kind, & helpful. He went out of his way to help us to come back to the hotel safe.
This is a 5 stars hotel.
My rate : A +.
Thank you for helping us to feel comfortable & safe .

We stayed at the Hotel Alimandi Vaticano for 2 nights after our recent cruise. Great hotel! Outstanding, accommodating staff! Wonderful location right next to the entrance to the Vatican. We had advance online tickets so we walked across the street after breakfast and walked right in. By the way, the breakfast was delicious with a large selection and variety of food. Our room/bath was very large, comfortable, and very quiet. We especially looked forward to relaxing with drinks on the roof terrace each night. The front desk staff provided several great dinner suggestions all within a short walk from the hotel. We definitely recommend this hotel to all travelers. Thanks for making our short stay in Rome so memorable.

We stayed at the Alimandi Vaticano for 3 nights in mid-October 2013. This was our third visit to this Hotel, so they must be doing something right. Friendly staff, pick-up service from Airport at very reasonable rates, nice rooms, all you can eat breakfast, lovely ambience in the hotel, reasonable bar prices, close proximity to the Vatican. If the Vatican is a must on your visit, then stay at this Hotel.

We picked the location because of the close proximity to the Vatican. Our room/bath was comfortable, spacious and sparkling clean. The roof terrace and lobby are good places to relax Breakfast was delicious and an extraordinary big selection. We commented on the long lines for Museum tickets and were told by reception that Tuesdays were not busy, we took that advice, waited about 10 min. in line and for the regular entrance fee (no extra cost) we enjoyed the great Museum. The hotel was also helpful with the loan of a wheelchair for my husband to attend the General Papal Audience, which he would not have been do otherwise. This added greatly to a wonderful experience. We could not have been happier with or stay (5 nights). Staff was very helpful and friendly. Thank you. Else and Bob Luzzi, Napa California.

The close proximity to the Vatican Museum entrance is the plus point. Go up the flight of stairs near the hotel and you are there to join the queue for tickets. The owner and staff are friendly and obliging. Gives ample advice and information. The room is comfortable and wifi is stable, strong and free! Doors away from a supermarket and fresh morning market too. Over all, a good place to stay. Lots of nearby restaurants.

We came to Rome for two nights to revisit the Vatican as part of a fourth trip to Italy. This hotel is across the street from the entrance. The room is totally quiet, not too small, super clean. We drove in ( good luck) and the hotel simply took care of the car - very nice compared to being instructed about off sight parking. The breakfast is the usual European buffet style - good news is that the food is an excellent selection ( not crazy over the top ) and a very pleasant setting. The location, while very Vatican oriented, is a short taxi from all the great piazzas. In summary, a great hotel.
