Stayed here in April 2014 for 4 nights. We were greeted by a lovely, friendly receptionist who welcomed us with a couple of glasses of cold juice whilst we checked in (very much needed after our flight and transfer). The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly throughout our stay. The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring Ancient Rome, tucked up a little side street, it's behind part of the Roman Forum and a short walk to the Colosseum. We didn't take public transport once, in fact it's only a 15 minute walk back to the main train station. Our room was beautiful. Extremely comfy bed and a whirlpool bath that was very much needed to soak our muscles after hours of walking around the city. Free wifi was very handy too. Breakfast is served on the top floor in a lovely lounge but you also have the option to sit on the roof terrace which boasts amazing rooftop views. You can also enjoy a glass of wine up there in the evening, and if you order a drink between certain hours you can help yourself to the yummy finger buffet. Breakfast is also a buffet but you're offered fresh coffee and eggs whichever way you want them. We also received freshly made smoothies on a couple mornings which were delicious. I literally can't fault the hotel. If you're looking for a room with a view then this isn't the hotel for you but it really doesn't matter because you can have the views if you chill on the terrace which is a lovely sun-trap in the evening. The hotel also has its own piece of Ancient Rome in it, just behind reception you can visit the cryptoporticus which is fascinating. Rome is amazing but this hotel certainly made our stay that much more special, I would very highly recommend it, it was the icing on the cake for us.
