“Perfect Location in Rome”
Reviewed 14 September 2010

This is a wonderful boutique hotel within a short walking distance to most of the tourist sites in Rome. The area is extremely quiet and peaceful and the desk staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. It was extremely relaxing sitting on the roof and surveying many of the historic buildings while partaking of the afternoon snacks and a glass of wine. I found the metro system to be very adequate. The Colosseum station is 5 min walk and you can go anywhere for 1 euro!

We would definitely stay here again if we returned to Rome.

My review might be significantly biased by the fact that we had booked a standard room through Expedia at this hotel for one night (still quite pricy) but because of some overbookings - the hotel upgraded us to their Master Suite!! For our very last night in Rome/Italy and after a long train ride back from Venice this was probably one of the best things from our two week trip in Italy. What can you say? The Master Suite was amazing!!! A huge canopy bed, A-framed ceiling - fantastically appointed with a big screen TV and lovely glass chandalier. The bathroom had double sinks and a jacuzzi tub and nice spa products. We also had our own private garden - all for the price of standard room so thank you very, very, very much Inn At the Roman Forum for the upgrade!!

But even despite the upgrade, the 'standard' amenities at this hotel are top notch. The hotel is in a quiet secluded area that is built right into the Roman Forum itself (wth an amazing Roman crypt on site). So you can just walk down and explore Ancient Rome because you are right there! Note that because of its secluded and tucked away location, some taxi drivers may find it difficult to find (especially since the hotel is not accessible from a main street).

The lounge (where very tasty complimentary appetizers are served in the evenings and nice buffet breakfasts in the morning) is absolutely stunning with tastefully modern decor and interesting books interspersed. The rooftop patio is always very nice and offers amazing views.

Finally, like all great hotels, the service at the Inn at the Roman Forum was excellent. Both the desk clerks that we encountered there (one was female the other was male) were extremely helpful, courteous and sincere. The Inn at the Roman Forum was a wonderful way to end our Roman Holiday and the complimentary upgrade we received from them was certainly the icing on the cake!!

Just come back from this hotel and it is truly gorgeous! It has so much charm- very italien and very classy but with modern comfy touches. Great location right by colosseum and staff were really polite and friendly. Definity would go again!

My wife and I stayed here for our first few days in Italy for our honeymoon in August. First of all - the location is pretty much perfect for anyone who wants to be in walking distance of 90% of the must-do sites in Rome. The Roman Forum really is within easy view. Another excellent thing about the location is that its located on a side street completely removed from the busy roads, traffic noise, and steady stream of pedestrians. It IS a bit pricey but the rooms, location, etc make it worth the price in my eyes. Also, the breakfast was fantastic and the server always went out of his way to make sure we had what we wanted.

BUT...my only real complaint is sort of a big one considering these were the first few nights of our honeymoon and immediately after a 10 hour flight and a tiring wedding. For some reason, they thought it would be a good idea to renovate the room above us beginning at 6 AM! Being woken up that early by the sounds of what seemed to be someone tearing carpet up from the floor above us was mind blowing. We complained, were assured it wouldn't happen again. Except it did, the very next morning. Although this time it was more like 7 AM. It didn't happen again the next morning but needless to say, for the amount of money we were paying for the room, at the very least we expected to be able to sleep in peacefully at least a few hours later than usual. Bummer, because everything else about our experience here was great.

We booked on line and I have to admit I was a bit nervous because it seemed to good to be true! We arrived early in the morning and the gal offered to upgrade us for a minimal fee to the suite with a private "rooftop garden". WOW! It looked like something out of a story book and we loved the brick floors and the drapery! The garden had a sitting area and then there were private chairs outside our room. In the morning, they served a continental breakfast with a wonderful variety of foods, pastries and fruits plus coffee and fruit juices. That was spectacular enough but then, to actually be able to walk to EVERYTHING! We walked to the Colosseum, Forum, Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps plus many different restaurants were within walking distance. We have already told everyone we know about this gorgeous boutique hotel and we will most definitely stay there again....Also, the staff is very friendly and helpful as well as very professional.

Thank you so much from Kytti and Bob from California

At 550e per night I was expecting a 5 start hotel. Unfortunately, this hotel didn't meet my expectations for a 3 start hotel.

What I didn't like:
-air conditioning wasn't nearly as powerful as it needed to be.. resulting in a hot room and uncomfortable sleep
-decor is old and cheap
-bed is hard and has really ugly, old sheets/blankets
-food was really, really not good (stale, cheap, yuck!). more like a best western buffet (evening snack and breakfast)
-linens, glasses, etc. are all very ugly ..like something you'd pick up at a 80's restaurant depot sale
-bathroom shower leaked water everywhere
-toiletries were not high quality
-in general, hotel feels seedy and out of date - absolutely nothing charming about this property
-charged for rediculous things like ice and internet access (when paying 540 per night ice should be complimentary)
-no gym, no pool, no business center, internet access very, very spotty (and charged 10e per day)

What I liked
-Area was nice
-Staff were very nice
-Entrance to hotel very nice (looks very promising at first impression)

I must warn you that I felt completely taken advantage of.. and in fact, I'm now worried about trip advisor reviewers.. I don't understand how anyone could think this was a hotel worth 540e per night (or anything above about 100e per night).

If you are looking for a charming, beautiful, 5-star experience then do not book this hotel.
