“Pleasant stay”
Reviewed 25 April 2011

We stayed in this hotel in March 2011. Very convenient location, the staff is very friendly and helpful. We really felt very cozy and safe there. The breakfast was very good and fresh. Our thanks to everybody for the great stay! We would highly recommend this hotel to everyone who plans to visit Rome. If we ever in Rome again, we would definitely stay there again!

After a minor issue with our room, quickly sorted out by the manager , we settled into this base for our Rome trip. It is convenient for the railway station but of course , as with any city centre station location, be careful at night ( common sense). The standard rooms are great , the beds are usual for Italy as we found , ie firm but comfortable. Breakfast was great & includes bacon and eggs as well as excellent continental choice. The bathrooms are clean and modern as is the rest of the hotel. Wifi patchy on higher floors but there are free computers next to Lobby for all to use. Airport transfer is certainly worth it for 4 or more gusts as the train is more expensive than a private car transfer .

We had a great stay for 3 nights. Great hotel. Highly recommended.
Room was beautifully clean with great facilities, good bathroom and great shower. We arrived early but they had the room ready at 11am and allowed us to check in and freshen up so we could make the most of the first day.
Quite small room for 4 star but very reasonable price.
Close to Termini Station, great for trains and metro. Perfect for all the major sights, we walked everywhere and tooks metro to Vatican.
Staff very accomodating and looked for any info we needed. Willing to give advice on any sights etc but not pushy.
Able to organise transport to and from Airport.
Top tip for Rome: book Vatican online before you go.

Room Tip: Get hotel to book airport transfers

Very friendly staff, trying to meet every cusomer need. What surpriced me most they go extra mile to solve my problems with tolerance and readiness. We've decided to stay at Diocleziano for we've read a lot of positive feedback on how good their staff is - and it really has exceeded my expecaions.

Stayed at the hotel for three nights with my mother and sister in April, and I cannot stress enough how impressed we were with the hotel, the staff, location, etc. Valentino and Theodore (front office) both helped me plan a private guided tour of the Vatican (from the US before we arrived), and the guide they arranged for us was terrific! We couldn't have been happier. Valentino was amazing - he gave us perfect restaurant suggestions every night, and hotel management even noticed it was my birthday when we arrived and had a bottle of champagne and treats delivered to our room to say 'happy birthday'. The breakfast buffet was one of the best we had during our two week, four country trip. The location is fantastic - you can walk anywhere and are also so close to Termini Station if you need to catch a train. Overall, the hotel and staff paid attention to the details and I would recommend them to anyone coming to Rome. We stayed in the VIP room w/ private terrace, and this was amazing for enjoying some wine at night after a long day of sightseeing. I will definitely be staying there again when I return next time!

Great little hotel in a quiet sidestreet near the main rail terminal.
Very nice breakfast supplied with a selection of cold meats and hot stuff (bacon, sausage, home-made baked beans, scrambled egg).
Free soft drinks in mini-bar and free wireless.
Good restaurants nearby especially Babbo's (quite expensive but good food and friendly service!)
There is a small bar area with service provided by the bell-boy. This works surprisingly well and we never had to wait long - quite cheap too for a hotel (4Euro for a beer and 7euro for a very, very large whisky )
The Trevi fountain (and all the shops near there) is about 10 to 15 minutes walk away. We even walked across to the Vatican one day.
This hotel is highly recommended, we were very sorry to leave!

Room Tip: Not all rooms have baths so ask if you want one.

I stayed at the Hotel Diocleziano in April for a few nights. This hotel is just a 10 minute walk to Termini Train station as well as Piazza Repubblica and Santa Maria Maggiore. It is on a side street in a quiet area. You will not find the hustle and bustle of the Spanish Steps or Pantheon areas staying at this hotel. If you are not comfortable with taking the Metro or walking a bit (20 to 30 minute walk to some attractions) you may want to look for something more centrally located. The hotel staff and service was very pleasant and even provided us with a restaurant recommendation in the area which we enjoyed. They have complimentary wifi, breakfast, and mini bar with water and soda's free of charge.

For those looking to stay out of the craziness of central Rome I would definitely recommend this hotel!
