“Great Hotel in Rome”
Reviewed 12 December 2013

My husband and I stayed in this hotel for 5 days and found it absolutely wonderful. All the staff was friendly and helpful, the room was very nice, included a bidet, and was very quiet since it is just off a major street. The breakfast was excellent, with eggs, meats, fresh orange juice, etc. Location was very good since it was near bus and train stations. We would stay here again any time, was one of the best hotels we have stayed in Europe. No pool though but we didn't care.

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay at this hotel. Below is a summary of our experience:

Pros

- It's less than a 10 min walk from Roma Termini, so it was ideal given that we were arriving via train.
- The staff was very friendly and helpful, which was a plus. The front desk even helped obtain our airport transfer pick-up time when I had trouble reaching them.
- Breakfast was included in our rate. They had a lot of variety to chose from (croissants, eggs, bacon, cold meats and cheeses, etc). The restaurant staff was very friendly and even remembered your preferences. They immediately started working on my cappuccino when I walked in, which was a pleasant surprise!
- The non-alcoholic drinks in the mini bar were complimentary and restocked daily. That's a rare thing to find in hotels and most of them try to charge you for every little thing.
- The bath/shower is very large and includes jets.
- The area is not the prettiest, but we still felt relatively safe while walking to/from the hotel, even at night.

Cons

- The beds were a bit firmer than I prefer. It made getting comfortable a bit difficult, but eventually sleep won out :)
- The elevator is a bit small, so the maximum number of people it can fit is 3 (without any luggage). If you have more people be prepared to make two trips.

Dear Guest,

It is with great pleasure that we read your review on our property. We always cherish all of our Guests’ opinions so that we may continue improving on ourselves.

We are glad that you found so many positive aspects while staying with us. We strive to make our Guests feel pampered, and by reading your words it really seems that we have managed in our attempt, just by bringing you a cappuccino!

As for the small negatives that you have underlined, we are sorry that especially regarding the mattress, you did not think of coming directly to us. We are aware that not all Guests have the same needs, especially when it comes to things like food or sleep; this is why we are ready to adjust most small requests in no time. For example, if a Guests informs us that he find the bed too hard for their taste, we may offer a foam padding to be placed on top of the mattress and in most cases this does the trick ensure a good night’s sleep!

As for the lift, we are afraid that in this case we cannot really change the one we have in order to make it bigger. We can only confirm that the lift may carry up to 4 people at the time (with no luggage) and that this type of lift is quite common for central city buildings. When installing it with the opening of the hotel, with thought that this type would suffice for the “traffic” a hotel of 35 rooms might have. We understand that most people might be used to larger lifts, however we can assure our Guests that although small it fits its purpose. Furthermore, it is not necessary for our Guests to take up by themselves their luggage, our porters are there to help and will take care of your luggage on arrival and departure!

We do hope that although these minor notes you have enjoyed your stay with us and that you will return to visit us soon.

The staff was great and the room was comfortable and clean. The location was near the metro so we got around town easily. Would stay here again without a doubt. There are numerous restaurants around and a few good stores to shop in the area.

As it was our first time in we chose a hotel near the central station.
The hotel is locate a short walk from Tremini station in a quite street adjacent to one of Rome's famous churches. The hotel was spotlessly clean and reception staff and service staff were very friendly. The hotel offers a complimentary non alcoholic mini bar in the room. Rooms are spacious and clean, beds comfortable. Large bath with underfloor heating. The hotel is well located to visit all of Rome's famous landmarks like the Coloseum an the Vatican City. The hotel provide a great breakfast with all the necessary goodies.
I will return to this hotel

Reasonable hotel with nice rooms and clean bathrooms.
After the first night we asked for a quieter room and while we went sightseeing they took care of everything and moved our luggage. The second room had a much smaller bathroom but was very tidy too. Considering that breakfast is not that popular in Italy they put together a good selection. The breakfast-room is loud though.
Location is great. If you want you can do most of Rome's incredible sights by foot.

We just spent 6 nights here in November. This is a lovely property. The staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcome. The breakfasts are more than adequate, they even will fix your eggs however you prefer.
The location was fine for walking most everywhere. What I liked most was that there were more reasonal priced restaurants in this location within a 10-20 minute walk, than were located in the more touristy neighborhoods.
We walked everywhere, it really burned those calories!. I always felt safe, even at night.

I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

My family and I had a marvelous stay at Hotel Diocleziano. The staff is unbelievably warm, friendly, and go way out of their way to be helpful. It started the moment we checked in. A half hour later, I blew an electrical device (USA voltage) and someone from maintenance was up in a few minutes and fixed our problem immediately. (The device, however, was shot.) The room was probably the cleanest I have ever been in in any hotel. It was also quite spacious. We had a double room with a cot as we had my 16 year old daughter with us and we were not cramped. The bathroom was beautifully large so two people can get dressed at the same time.

Twice, I had to miss going down to breakfast and my husband came up with a tray filled with all the foods I ate in the past few days. I asked if he picked them out and he said the wonderful women who run the buffet noticed what I ate and fixed the tray. You won't find that level of service in many hotels unless you pay a fortune. It is also great to have a mini fridge filled with beverages at no cost to you. We did not use the gym but did peek at it. It was well equipped and sparkling clean with towels and water available. Nice touch.

The hotel is centrally located and a five minute walk to Termini Station. The neighborhood is quiet with many great restaurants within a few minute's walking distance. I think one of the reasons why this hotel is so personal is because it only has 35 rooms. This way, the staff can offer personalized service. We stayed seven nights and will stay again if I am fortunate enough to return to Rome. Arrivederci.
