We checked in with a friendly concierge and a porter who showed us to our very clean and nicely designed small room with a window opening onto a quiet street. The bathroom was a good size, bed comfortable, and we felt we had a haven in the busy city. Breakfast the next morning was a wonderful surprise, including a caffe latte and a buffet with fresh juice, bacon, eggs, pastries, fruit, and cheese. A VERY short walk to the train.

very friendly clean hotel. Nice and close to transport links and easy walking to the main attractions. Good move as we went out to eat every night and really enjoyed trying all that Rome has to offer in food.

We stayed for 4 nights and the hotel exceeded all our expectations. The room, the staff and the location are perfect for a lovely stay in Rome. Not a cheap hotel but worth every penny we paid and more! We are planning to stay here again very soon!

I took a chance in reading reviews from TA about the Hotel Diocleziano, in November '13. Originally I spoke with Emilio when considering the reservation. Much to the delight of all 4 of us traveling together, we were met as if we were family, not to mention the folks at the hotel were very proud of their little facility, it's efficiency and cleanliness. They were right to be so. Very well located near the Termini, so you get anywhere in Rome by bus or train, easily. Near great restaurants, banks and of course ruins...the Baths and the Museum of Rome a block away. They went out of their way to serve us, including making us sack breakfasts when were were going to Pompeii one day. They were very helpful with anything we asked - Kudos to Emilio, Theodore and the rest of the staff. We will see you again. Patterso

My husband and I stayed in this hotel for 5 days and found it absolutely wonderful. All the staff was friendly and helpful, the room was very nice, included a bidet, and was very quiet since it is just off a major street. The breakfast was excellent, with eggs, meats, fresh orange juice, etc. Location was very good since it was near bus and train stations. We would stay here again any time, was one of the best hotels we have stayed in Europe. No pool though but we didn't care.

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay at this hotel. Below is a summary of our experience:

Pros

- It's less than a 10 min walk from Roma Termini, so it was ideal given that we were arriving via train.
- The staff was very friendly and helpful, which was a plus. The front desk even helped obtain our airport transfer pick-up time when I had trouble reaching them.
- Breakfast was included in our rate. They had a lot of variety to chose from (croissants, eggs, bacon, cold meats and cheeses, etc). The restaurant staff was very friendly and even remembered your preferences. They immediately started working on my cappuccino when I walked in, which was a pleasant surprise!
- The non-alcoholic drinks in the mini bar were complimentary and restocked daily. That's a rare thing to find in hotels and most of them try to charge you for every little thing.
- The bath/shower is very large and includes jets.
- The area is not the prettiest, but we still felt relatively safe while walking to/from the hotel, even at night.

Cons

- The beds were a bit firmer than I prefer. It made getting comfortable a bit difficult, but eventually sleep won out :)
- The elevator is a bit small, so the maximum number of people it can fit is 3 (without any luggage). If you have more people be prepared to make two trips.

Dear Guest,

It is with great pleasure that we read your review on our property. We always cherish all of our Guests’ opinions so that we may continue improving on ourselves.

We are glad that you found so many positive aspects while staying with us. We strive to make our Guests feel pampered, and by reading your words it really seems that we have managed in our attempt, just by bringing you a cappuccino!

As for the small negatives that you have underlined, we are sorry that especially regarding the mattress, you did not think of coming directly to us. We are aware that not all Guests have the same needs, especially when it comes to things like food or sleep; this is why we are ready to adjust most small requests in no time. For example, if a Guests informs us that he find the bed too hard for their taste, we may offer a foam padding to be placed on top of the mattress and in most cases this does the trick ensure a good night’s sleep!

As for the lift, we are afraid that in this case we cannot really change the one we have in order to make it bigger. We can only confirm that the lift may carry up to 4 people at the time (with no luggage) and that this type of lift is quite common for central city buildings. When installing it with the opening of the hotel, with thought that this type would suffice for the “traffic” a hotel of 35 rooms might have. We understand that most people might be used to larger lifts, however we can assure our Guests that although small it fits its purpose. Furthermore, it is not necessary for our Guests to take up by themselves their luggage, our porters are there to help and will take care of your luggage on arrival and departure!

We do hope that although these minor notes you have enjoyed your stay with us and that you will return to visit us soon.

The staff was great and the room was comfortable and clean. The location was near the metro so we got around town easily. Would stay here again without a doubt. There are numerous restaurants around and a few good stores to shop in the area.
