“Nice hotel, not best area”
Reviewed 24 July 2014

We very much enjoyed the hotel. It is a nice hotel with a friendly and helpful staff. Nice rooms and good breakfast. The only down side is that the area immediately around it is not very nice. That being said, it did not stop us in the least from exploring the city by foot, subway, and cab.

If you arrive at the Termini station, walk, do not take a cab. It is 300 yards away.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your positive feedback on the quality of our rooms, the efficiency and kindliness of our staff, and our delicious breakfast! Yes, we are located in the historic area close to Termini Station and the Baths of Diocletian. It is an ideal location for walking to nearby historic sites and we are sorry that, as is the case in the majority of large cities, you perceived of the various people who use the train station area. We look forward to a return visit to enjoy a second stay with us!

The staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Hotel was very clean and quiet. Close to the Termini Station and not far from the main attractions. What more could you ask for. If we ever return to Rome we would certainly book this hotel again.

I felt shameful after I left a review on booking.com (I booked thru it) because I did not know how that review systems worked. I tried to rate a hotel according to international standard, say big room, full facilities etc, so even though I enjoyed this hotel very much, I gave 'good' not 'excellent' in some categories. This resulted in an 8/10 result, which I thought it should 9.5+/10. After we stayed other hotels in South Europe, I realise that this hotel actually should be 10/10 with European standard. It is just excellent. Luckily I had to return Roma and I stayed here for 2nd time, which means I can give them another review, 10/10. Anyway, my average could not get 9.5. So I am not wasting anytime when I receive trip advisor review invitation, that is 5/5, no doubt.

I also stayed some other hotels nearby (so also close to Roma Termini station), I have comparisons. The conclusion is, this hotel is best. No doubt.

We stay for 4 nights( July 13 to 17, 2014) at this hotel and we were very impressed with the services right from the moment we step on the hotel. Giordano, Emilio and Theodore did everything possible to respond to our answers in a very good english and professional way.
Hotel is close to Termini Station and you have all the options for transportation around the city.
Rooms were clean and spacious. Breakfast was really good, maybe a little of variety make it perfect.
We definitely recommend this hotel for families, couples and solo.
Thank you for a great stay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The staff is very good and friendly and helpful. Very professional and courteous. The hotel is clean and adequate. The breakfast could be a little better, better choices and brands. The only thing we did not like - due to no fault of the hotel - is the location. Its a little far from the action if you are a tourist, the immediate area of the hotel seems a little sketchy being the case with any area near train stations, in any given city. You need to plan to take taxis to attractions, they are good and fast and everywhere. Do not expect gorgeous views or high end restaurants near the hotel. The staff is really wonderful and I commend them.

Dear guest,

We are glad that the staff and cleanliness provided you with a memorable stay with us!

The area around the train station is a historic and interesting area, though perhaps a bit long of a walk to the Colosseum at 20 minutes. Though close to the Villa Borghese among others, and of course an ideal location for those who are here in Rome travelling by train.
As with all large cities, there is a wide and varied populace, so we are sorry if some seemed a bit shady to you.

All our staff hopes to see you for a return visit in the near future.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 5 days in Rome. The hotel was well presented with professional and helpful staff. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The daily breakfast was great with a good range of food. Good location, easy walk to Termini station for buses and trains to the airport and any attractions.

Hotel Diocleziano is located on a quiet street by the museum of Rome, Diocletian baths, a tranquil and quiet location.
Despite this, it is in easy walking distance from the train station, so a perfect selection for train travelers. As well, there are an abundance of restaurants within walking distance.
Perfect positioning for walking to the piazza de la republica, fountain of Trevi, colosseum, etc.

Hotel customer service was excellent, prompt replies to email inquiries, advice and maps for touring, assistance with bags. Very good English. Very pleasant.
Free internet.

Rates were very good.
Breakfast was included. And let me tell you....that this was an amazing breakfast. Pastries, meats, bread, cheese, cereal fruit, hot dishes, cappuccino and espresso offered, fresh squeezed orange juice......!!! And very cheerful service staff. What a treat!

The room was quite nice, lovely bath with marble floors, comfortable bed and very very quiet. Heard nothing at night. Absolutely nothing. Safe in room, nice size closet. Climate control perfect and quiet.
I would highly recommend and will be returning next time in Rome!
