“Small but beautifully formed hotel, with a service 'out of this world!'”
Reviewed 29 November 2010

Having stayed in some grand hotels before, we went on trip advisors scoring when booking this hotel. Compared to others it does not have a grand entrance - in fact unless you knew you were going to this hotel you could walk straight pass it.
Once inside, you experience the 'Diocleziano ' experience - Exceptionally clean, sparkling in every way including the breakfast, gym, the service and welcome you recieve.
In particular receptionist Valentino was superb. Nothing was too much trouble. His suggestions included Resturants, where to buy Handbags and where & when to visit places. He should recieve a big pay rise as he is such a credit to the Hotel.
The gym was clean and had a variety of machines and free weights.
The breakfast room was kept clean and replenished by the two ladies who worked in it. The breakfast had everything you would expect and more.
The bar prices were not cheap but that is normal.
The bedrooms were clean and functional with limited TV channels in english - but being tourists we did not need to watch TV. The bathroom was lovely and had shower gel & shampoo on offer - no conditioner though - something they should offer....
The bedrooms were small in size and had only side cabinets with drawers - clothes had to be stored in the wardrobes.
To finalise - if you are looking for a central location, in quiet area with good resturants nearby and want the service of a four star hotel without any of the pomp and circumstance BUT with elegant style -THIS IS THE HOEL FOR YOU!

Well done Hotel Diocleziano - all should experience the Hotel Diocleziano experience!

It was our first time in Rome. We stayed at this boutique hotel for 6 nights. My spouse and I travelled with our 2 children and a friend (3 teenagers) and the grandmother. We had booked 3 rooms. From the very first minute we stepped into the hotel lobby we were treated like family. Special thanks to Valentino and Giordano at the front desk. They were more than helpful and provided us with thoughtful tips, suggestions and recommendations . The breakfast buffet was excellent. The rooms were very clean and spacious by European standard. We would have no hesitation whatsoever in returning there and recommending this hotel to family and friends.

Finally we would also recommend Babbos restaurant just around the corner. Friendly staff and excellent food. We ate there twice ! Also try the mom and pop snack bar called - Fantasy Pizza just a minute away. They make a mean Pizza.

The Hotel Diocleziano is within genuine walking distance of Roma Termini station, rather than the theoretical walking distance that seems to be set by pentathletes on some review sites. Rooms are spacious and comfortable -- I had booked a single and was expecting the standard poky fare, instead the bedroom was large and well appointed and the bathroom simply enormous. All of the fripperies, from the linens to the soaps, were very good quality, and the bed enormously comfortable. My room was away from the street and nice and quiet. The staff were very good and fluent in several languages, as well as understanding my bad Italian. Nearby attractions include the Diocletian Baths and Palazzo Massimo and the hotel is very well situated for both bus and train. There are more conveniently located hotels if you only plan to do the main Roman attractions, but if you will be travelling around the region or are stopping in Rome before catching the train to somewhere else, this is an excellent choice.

The Hotel was a lot better than we expected.
The staff were extremely helpful with any questions we had regarding places to visit, directions, where to eat, tours to take.
Room was very clean and tidy, however we could hear everything outside of the door in hallway. eg. people leaving/entering their rooms.
Our expectations were low going to Europe, but I would recomend this Hotel to other travellers.

Stayed for 4 nights at hotel. Staff very helpful and friendly and gave good advice on places to visit and on how to get there. Room very spacious and mini bar provided soft drinks without any additional cost. Hotel situated down a side street so no noise from traffic. Great location - less than 5 minute walk from main underground station. If you like a walk through the city it only took about 20 minute stroll to the to the main sights such as Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps and Pantheon. Breakfast was lovely with a great variety of cerels, fruit and hot and cold selections. In the evening there was a great place to eat around the corner - 'Babbos', reasonably priced serving great Italian food of pasta and pizza dishes.

It was my second time in Rome and the first for my husband. Rome is the city which you want to visit again and again. And every time you open something new and exciting. We would come again and would stay at Diocleziano. I think that our stay there was a plus to this wonderful trip. Thank you for your hospitality.
