“Great value”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 June 2013

We stayed here for one night and weren't expecting much to be honest - when we initially walked into the lobby, I had my doubts. I needn't have worried. The room was lovely. Small, but enough 'breathing space' for two people. Nice shower room - again, small, but enough space to move. It was clean and well maintained with an attractive 'rustic' interior. A large TV and fully functioning air-con unit which was much needed! The location of this hotel is fantastic, being right next to the main station and close enough to all the beautiful sights of Rome. The woman at reception was very friendly and helpful, giving us a map and other useful bits of information. There is also a lift here, so fine if you have heavy luggage and/or mobility issues. The only drawback is that the rooms have the potential to be a bit noisy - I don't know if you'd be guaranteed a peaceful nights sleep. There were a group of fairly loud and lively girls next door that we could hear clearly, but luckily for us they eventually quietened down and from midnight onwards it was very quiet (apart from the faint sound of the street/station outside which you'd expect from a central hotel at this price). We didn't have breakfast here, so can't comment on that, but overall, we thought it was great value for money and would definately stay here again.

We returned for the 4th time, in late February 2013 the last visit being in December 2011.
We had the warmest of welcomes as always , and what a surprise !. The hotel has had a tasteful refurbishment with new beds and bathrooms , working heating/aircon and flat screen TV's, and given its very convenient location, just a few steps from the end of the 1930's part of Termini station, offers even better value than before. The service from the staff is second to none, who make every effort to provide whatever assistance guests might require.

Caput Mundi is a cosy place, with great location. Close to Termini, walking distance to city centre. We stayed with my boyfriend for only 2 night, so next time, we have to stay longer :-) The room was in great condition, I think just after reconstruction. Staff was very helpfull and friendly. Nice breakfast for a good start of the day.. Evan if its not a 5star hotel, for the money, you pay, you will get more, then you can expect. Recomended!! And Rome is beautifull place off course :-)

My husband and I have stayed two times at Hotel Caput Mundi and have been treated so kindly, so nicely, and attentively. The owners are wonderful people, polite, caring, and just simply wanting to make our stay comfortable. It is such a convenient location for the train station, along with accessibility to many places to eat and businesses. It is economical, and the room had all
that we needed, including a lovely bathroom, modern, and efficient. We recommend this economically priced hotel to anyone who simply needs a place to sleep, and wishes to be in walking distance to Rome Termini. The staff has always been helpful and pleasant.

The worse place we stayed in Italy. Aircon was not working. The receptionist fiddled with the aircon remote control a long while but couldn't rectify the problem. She eventually claimed its cold enough and left. We had to endure Roma summer in the room for a night even though the aircon was set to 17C. To add insult to injury, the shower supposed to be hot turned out to be icy cold. No Wifi provided. Breakfast was terrible. Stay far away from this place.

Booked at last minute for one of the busiest weekends of the year so there wasnt much on offer and we had to settle for the Caput Mundi and we were not expecting much. Well to our surprise, it was a nice renovated room on the 5 th floor, quite big with a new bathroom. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful, sure the breakfast is rubbish and the area is pretty average, buts it convenient to the station and excellent value for money. Would highly recommend.
