Just left. Perfect oasis in a very busy city. Stayed in the penthouse, quiet, great firm bed. Not for everyone but if you want privacy and service in a small boutique hotel, this is it.

Roberto and all staff were top notch. Excellent pre-arrival concierge services, too.

Breakfast is lovely.

The suite was stunning, modern, well appointed, with a kitchenette that was hidden away. We had a corner room with wonderful street views. The staff was solicitous, welcoming, helpful, professional in every way. And there was a panoramic rooftop terrace, where a full breakfast was served as well as late afternoon snacks. The view and the ambience were sensational. The hotel's location, a few blocks from the Spanish Steps, was very convenient and central. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. And give it our highest recommendation!

The staff at Portrait Suites and location are the best. Our room was lovely and the attention to detail by the hotel is amazing ...you feel like a Bed and Breakfast set up in the USA. Location to all the attractions in Rome is excellent, also great shopping close to hotel!

We love Rome and just completed our 3rd stay in 3 years at the Portrait Studios in Rome.

We arrived and stayed in Rome for 5 days at beginning of our 15 day Italy trip. We were welcomed back by the most personable and professional staff we've encountered in years of travel, domestic and international. This group could not be more gracious, helpful or engaging. They make all the difference and are a match for the beauty, comfort, and cleanliness of the hotel.

Each night we retreated from the heat and crowds to the hotel rooftop to relax, sip wine, and look at the skyline, in particular a great view of the Spanish Steps. Note this is the same rooftop where breakfast is served, during good weather; a beautiful way to start your day with a wonderful view and excellent coffee.

Our only complaint, we didn't book with the hotel in time to stay at Portrait Studios on the backend of our trip. we needed to find a hotel in Rome for 3 days at the back end of our trip. On a previous trip to Rome, we'd stayed at Hotel de Russie, nice but impersonal. This time we decided to try the Hotel Hassler at the top of the Spanish Steps; rooms and service were no where near the level of Portrait Studios. Not worth the price and the Hassler suffers in comparison to Portrait Studios. We won't plan to stay at the Hotel Hassler again.

For hotel comfort, cleanliness, service, and location, we won't make a mistake in waiting to book with Portrait Studios in future and we will continue to stay at the Portrait Studios again and again.

Room Tip: AC is excellent. Each room is equipped with a mini kitchen with all kitchen appliances, if you want...

Dear DebGio,

i can only express my sincere gratitude for your review.

The Portrait Suites is a small property, well located, with an amazing rooftop, large and well appointed Suites.
We have no restaurant, no spa, and no fitness areas, how we could compete with all this big and luxury property you mentioned in your review?

We provided to organize the best "en Suite Massause, hairdresser, and fitness facilities with a private trainer if you wish.

We decided to train the best Lifestyle Team to suggest to each of our guests the best Spa, the best restaurant and the best Fitness center in town, depending on the guest sensibility and taste.

We decided to train another Team, the Guest Assistant, which is at complete disposal to our guests to meet their needs during their stay with us.

Thanks to all the Portrait Suites Staff, including the housekeeping Team, which daily with passion and attitude make the harder job in our property, and the F&B, that daily try to find the best quality of each single products they offer you.

Each of them try to give to all our guests a memorable experience, not only a Suite, but smiles , empathy, attitude, and service in engaging all together all of you to grant your wishes or simply extending you their sincere kindness.

Please do not hesitate to contact me for your fourth visit next year,

With Sincere Gratitude,

Last October we booked two rooms for my wife and I and her two older sisters for four days in Rome, staying at Portrait Suites, and later cruising from Civitavecchia. The sisters flew from US east coast, but we flew from US west coast, and we arrived two days later than they. The wonderful staff at PS picked them up at airport, and showed them every courtesy. When we finally arrived, we were thrilled by the location, the roof top terrace with amazing view, the rooms in which every detail was executed to a fare-thee-well, and the warm and helpful staff. It is not a "grand hotel", but it is as perfectly and thoughtfully executed as you would expect for a hotel located above, and associated with, the Ferragamo store below, fronting on Via Condotti, just down a couple blocks from Spanish Steps. While probably targeted to high end shoppers who will trod Via Condotti, and offering personal shoppers and rooms with dressing areas and wonderful closets, this is a well located, well run, immaculate, boutique type small hotel where the customer truly gets the best service possible. We're going back to Rome in November, and we're going back to Portrait Suites. Not cheap, but if you want a certain sort of comfort and seamless service to make your stay wonderful, this is the place.

The suite was topnotch, classy, and had all the amenities we could ask for... the terrace on top looked out over Rome and was are relaxing getaway with a bar and breakfast served every morning. The service was incredible by helping us with dinner reservations for the night to our itinerary across Italy. The location is so convenient with the Spanish steps a block away and walking distance to the main attractions like the Pantheon, Trevi fountain and Piazza Navona.

We had the pleasure of a second stay at the Portrait Suites in early September 2013. As reflected in my prior review, we thoroughly enjoyed our first stay and were very much looking forward to round 2. Luckily, not only did Portrait Suites meet, but far exceeded our expectations.

We had booked not the most basic room but the next category up. But in honor of my birthday (which I was lucky enough to celebrate in Rome) the hotel upgraded us to the Condotti Suite which was amazing. It is one of the single story suites with a large bedroom, separate living area, kitchenette, 2 closets and a large bathroom (2 sinks, plus separate shower and bath). It was an awesome room for which I am incredibly grateful. It was really nice to have the additional space. Plus, the kitchenette (including its Nespresso machine) allowed us to make our own coffee and tea whenever we wanted, something we very much appreciate when traveling.

The hotel has definitely stepped it up and improved on what was already an awesome experience. Breakfast is now a full buffet with many choices all served up on the amazing roof deck. The roof bar is also now tended in the evenings in case you are shy about making your own drink.

One of the things we love about the hotel is the technological advantages. WiFi throughout, plus iPod docks which make charging our various devices much easier. They also now include an iPad in the room with information about the hotel and tourist sights – it was also nice just to have it to do our own research. Our room also had a sound system and weight set.

As before, the staff was incredibly helpful with recommendations and reservations. Likewise, the location of the hotel can’t be beat. And I cannot say enough about the roof deck. It is such a great place to relax and have a drink while watching all the goings on at the Spanish Steps.

They really have all of the details nailed, down to the Ferragamo toiletries.

This stay far surpassed our last and I cannot recommend the hotel enough.
