We loved this place. Only 14 rooms, beautifully appointed with lots of space. Incredible rooftop looking straight out onto the Spanish Steps. But the best bit were the staff - Francesca, Vanessa, Simone, Allesandro, Alessia, Thomas, Alexis, Ricardo and the rest of the team at Portrait could not do enough for you - we are very much looking forward to visiting beautiful Roma again very soon and staying at this amazing hotel.

Boutique hotel. Fantastic location, staff was 2nd to none , excellent. The rooms were a little small and little closet space. We were on a 11 day cruise ,left 1 suite case to work with. That was challenging. Breakfast was special on the roof top over looking Rome, a fabulous experience.

After staying at the Portrait Firenza for a week and loving it, we were looking forward to the Portrait Roma. It is a lovely small hotel with an exemplary staff. Again, we stayed for a week. Every time we came "home" after a long day walking about Rome, we were welcomed warmly. The room was lovely, good sized and with a small balcony with a peek at the Spanish steps. The storage was practical and roomy, which is so important when you are traveling for weeks at a time. The bath was roomy with walk in shower, plenty of counter top space and very nice Ferragamo toiletries. We used the little kitchenette a lot! The concierge helped us obtain a very hard to get reservation at a local's favorite Trattoria Gino which had been recommended by Mario Batali. We loved the roof top restaurant for breakfast an evening drinks & bite. The staff were marvelous... always remembered us by name and our preferences. We LOVED those guys!! We are picky about our hotels and we are recommending the Portraits from the Lungarno Collection by Ferragamo to all our friends who ask. THANK YOU to the staff at PORTRAIT ROMA, you made our stay a fabulous experience!!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with the balcony

From the moment we were met at the door when our taxi dropped us of until the taxi picked us up at the door to leave, I could find nothing but an exceptional experience. The location of the hotel was perfect a block away from the Spanish Steps and in the middle of the high end shopping area.

Reception offered us coffee, tea, water, and macaroons when we arrived. We sat with the concierge and learned about the hotel.

Our room was wonderful. We had a large hidden kitchen/snack area, two large closets with a safe, a comfortable living room, a spacious bath with many amenities and plush robes and towels, and a very comfortable bed in a nice sized bedroom. There were two televisions, multiple snacks each night, a bottle of Spumonti, and an interesting display of sweets and fruit each day.

We appreciated the iPad with the Salvatore Ferragamo cover that we were encouraged to take with us to stay in touch with hotel via Skype if needed, to find restaurants, and to use a Google map. Umbrellas were in the room and at the door in case we needed them. Each evening we had quiet uninterrupted sleep.

The rooftop breakfast was excellent with multiple choices of coffees, pastries, meats, cheeses, yogurts, and fruits. It may have been the best breakfast I ever had at a hotel.

Though the above mentioned things were wonderful, the staff were extremely friendly, happy, efficient, and well trained. They made our stay memorable. I highly recommend this hotel.

It is the service which really impresses here. Guests are looked after very well. The reception team are available at all times and can arrange anything that you might wish.
The rooms are spacious and very well equipped with excellent storage space, bathrooms and even kitchens. The sound proofing is effective so street noise did not bother us.
The location is great too - most of the sights are within walking distance and there are lots of restaurants in the vicinity.
One thing to note is that there is no restaurant on site - there is a very attractive roof terrace where a very good continental breakfast is served (the selection changes on a daily basis) but there is no restaurant. The view from the terrace is great but beware of the seagulls - there were some very persistent visitors when we were there. The terrace also acts as a very intimate bar in the evening which was perfect for pre and post dinner drinks. And the seagulls stay away after dark.
