“Roman Birthday Holiday”
Reviewed 11 April 2014

We (3 adult female friends) had the pleasure of staying at Borgo Pio. Our room (one bedroom was really a two bedroom) was perfect and accommodated the three of us well. The staff was super friendly, internet worked as advertised, and the location was awesome. Just 5 min from St Peters square , a great little restaurant lined street, and a bus area that took us anywhere. Just one thing that probably won't matter to anyone, but they have a rooftop terrace that they don't use. They let us up there and I thought with just a little TLC what an awesome place to relax and regroup. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone and I plan on returning.

We were looking for a good standard apartment style accommodation with a kitchen and close to main attractions. The apartment was basic but very clean and excellent for the money. They look like they have just be fitted out so looked newish. You are getting a good three star accommodation here. Excellent value in Rome.

The apartments are good although the kitchen is basic. There are four rooms. Small renovated bathroom ( shower is tiny ) , two bedrooms and a small kitchen area with a table and chairs. You get a fridge, microwave and oven and some basic pots and pans and plates. Easy to warm food up or cook some simple pasta for the kids. No dishwasher or wine glasses. The main bedroom is good with a small TV. The second bedroom has a single sofa style bed and a pull out trundle bed. There were four of us ( two adults and two teenagers) and we all slept well. The apartments are freshly painted and very clean. No cigarette smell which is a real turn off for me. Only negative is that there is really no where to sit and relax except on the bed. Then I discovered downstairs next to the reception is a large sitting room with couches and a large TV and some vending machines. I sat down there in the evenings and read and watched TV with a glass of wine. No one else seemed to be using this area. There is also a gym with lots of equipment and a nice bathroom. They also a collection of books if you forget to bring something with you.

The location of the apartment is excellent. Five minutes walk to the Vatican and the Castel Sant Angelo. We walked to the other attractions across the river. The walk from the apartment to the Colossseum is about 30 - 40 minutes . Everything in Rome is really within walking distance. You can get on the hop on hop off bus if you do not like walking. The area around the apartment has lots of restaurants which are very good and reasonably priced. The apartment is located in a side street so it is very quiet at night.

I would definitely stay here again if I was in Rome again.

We chose this property because of it's location and because we wanted to experience a different type of accommodation than the typical tourist hotel. The people in the office greeted us and made us feel so at home even though we were working on a very limited Italian vocabulary. The location was perfect to get to the Vatican (right outside the gates) and for all other places we visited the transportation was easily accessible. We had an apartment with a patio so at night we could sit out with a bottle of wine and listen to the concerts in the park across the street. What a great way to spend our time in Rome! I would stay here again if our travels take to Rome and recommend giving it a try especially if you are traveling with a family.

Choosed for the proximity to Vatican, Trianon Borgo Pio hotel was a pleasant surprise:nice location, safe and quiet. The appartement A5 is really good, large, the kitchen with all you need, bathroom Italian design and practical, main room large and nice furbished.
The main door is a bit old fashioned(as the close is imperfect) but finally you are in Vatican, Rome and the entrance door really doesn't matter.

Room Tip: A5 appartement

It was really nice to spend the weekend in this hotel. Staff was really friendly, and the room was fully equipped to cook and to store things (our room was actually a real apartment, even with a fridge!). Perfectly placed, just 500 m away from the Vatican. I would definitely go back there!

Ideal, perfect for what we wanted, felt very safe and the apartment was great, Pasquale was very helpful. It was a great base for visiting The Vatican which was only a few minutes away. Went on a bus tour on the first day which gave us some great ideas for places to visit, Italian people were so friendly and accommodating and couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome.

Excellent location, with easy access to Vatican city an 5 mins away from Metro Ottaviano. Also very close to Sant Angelo and to Piazza di Risorgimento. Easy access to a local supermarket or turistic restaurants from the area.
