BEST WESTERN PLUS Hotel Milton Roma
Ranked #290 of 1,271 Hotels in Rome
Reviewed 16 September 2013

This is a four-star hotel that feels at times like a 3-star one
on paper it has everything a better hotel may have, but on the ground some things feel quite cheap, especially for the quite high price one pays for them (although not bad in this aspect relative to other places in central Rome).
The room is not small, but not big. it is clean, and has good amenities - on paper.
in reality the TV has 5 or so channels, all in Italian only (i.e., no TV - not good), and perhaps the biggest problem is the shower. The bathroom is spacious - except, for the shower itself which takes up too little of the room and is a little too small. It is nice looking, with bidet and everything, but the water, oh the water. The handle allows you to set something like an "average" temperature - but this varies much and often, so you can get scolding hot water one second, and quite cold ones the next, without apparent reason or order, and for long stretches of time
The room is very clean, the staff helpful, the breakfast is a buffet thing but again feels cheap - what's the use of 6 types of bread if ALL of them are stale? the use of raw eggs I am yet to fathom etc.
Locality - they say 500m to the Colosseum on the net, which becomes 650m when you arrive, not a bad estimate (I would have guessed 750-1000 and may be wrong). Conveniently there is a metro stop and a tram, as well as several buses just outside the hotel, literally within 30m from the door. So overall, four rather little stars... but nothing too bad (except maybe for the shower)

Room Tip: higher floowr - our 1st floor room was very noisy when a window was opened

Dear customer, thank you for pointing out the kindness of our staff and the cleanliness / comfort of our rooms instead .... I'm sorry that you didn't appreciate the different qualities of our Italian bread, always fresh every day!!! But as we say in italy << On the tastes do not argue>> .... and for raw eggs, there was a sign and a nice "machinery" to cook soft-boiled according to the degree of cooking that one prefers .... Yours sincerely, Chiara Mencarelli - Hotel Manager

This was our first stay at the Hotel Milton but not our first trip to Rome. The hotel is in a good location and is two stops away from the Termini Railway Station. The metro station is opposite the hotel. Service was efficient. The first floor bedrooms were rather small but very comfortable with complimentary water. The breakfast was very good with an excellent choice of quality items, served for a long time period and was one of the best we have had in Italy. The hotel is in a converted monastery and is a modern boutique style hotel. Many sights such as the Colosseum,Forum,Trivi Fountain, etc are within a comfortable walking distance.Sleep quality was very good. There is minimal street noise despite the hotel being on a main avenue with trams, etc. There are a few restaurants, gelatia's, shops, etc within a few minutes walk.I would recommend the nearby gelatia for superb ice cream. Overall, a good quality hotel and good value for money.Highly recommended.

We had a lovely time in Rome which was enhanced by our stay at this hotel. Check in staff were friendly, polite and efficient. Our room on the third floor was nicely furnished albeit on the compact side. The bed was especially comfortable, everything was very clean and there is a handy safe in the wardrobe. The breakfasts are lovely with a lot of choice and were a great start to the day. There was always plenty of waiting staff each morning clearing tables and replenishing food. The reception desk always had a staff member available to help with any queries which was nice. The hotel was also handy for the metro as there is a subway entrance across the road. Overall, a good place to stay in Rome.

Young couple in our 20s -This hotel is great in all aspects. Great location, great rooms, great staff! We only used the metro a couple of times as mostly walked everywhere. However the metro is right across from the hotel and you can get off at all the stops that are nearest the main atattractions. As we walked mostly everywhere we seen a lot more than on the general tourist routes although we did have very sore feet. Only a few restuarants round about the hotel all well recommend! Amazing experience, would return in a second.

If you want to stay in a hotel that is clean, that has a great breakfast buffet and that has easy access to the Rome Metro System, they you should try the Hotel Milton in Rome.
Modern Rooms, equip with AC units, flatscreen tvs and our room did not have carpeting ( some talked about dirty carpets ) - but a new laminate flooring.
The great breakfast ( various cakes, fresh bread, breadrolls, fresh fruit, some cereals, Nutella ;), fritata, warm pizza bread, scrambled eggs and sooooooooo much more ) is a plus - try to find a good rate that already incorporate the buffet in the room rate -
You can ask for fresh coffee or use the two machines they provide in the breakfast room.
Staff is very friendly and especially busy in the breakfast room making sure that there never is an empty plate on the buffet.
The rooms are efficient, but there is not too much storage space - on the other hand you won't be staying for a fortnight, right?
I highly recommend this hotel if you look for a place to stay in Rome.
WiFi signal is very strong all over the hotel and for free.
Rome asks for a tax of 3 € per day - nothing the hotel can do about it - it must be paid. :)
We will come back.

Stayed here for four nights last week, excellent base for a city trip to Rome? Used to walk everywhere or get the metro which is opposite and walk back to the hotel. Very safe to walk any time of the day always lots of police around. Good shop opposite to buy cakes and drinks. Staff excellent, rooms spotless every time we went in there. Room had everything we needed with a free safe, shower very good. Breakfast was great, lots of choice, but no labels on things especially the juice which was confusing as to which was which! Overall a great place to stay with excellent value. Would recommend and stay again

I have literally just returned from a stay at the Hotel Roma for a period of 3 nights. I found the hotel to be very clean, although admittedly the decor could do with some updating. The continental breakfast was good with a variety of meats, cheeses and pastries on offer. The location is perfect for public transport links; the metro is opposite the hotel, and there are bus-stops also directly outside. It is a short walk to the Coliseum and a bus ride away from the Trevi Fountain. There are local cafe's, geleteria's and pizzerias which are nice to try. I must give special mention to Roberto on reception, who could not have been more accommodating or helpful when I needed to split my holiday party into 2 separate rooms. He was really thoughtful and kind during what was a difficult time, and handled my situation very efficiently. Thank you Roberto!! I will definitely visit again on my next trip to Rome!
