We've recently returned from a 5 night stay in the Hotel Milton and were very pleased with all aspects of our accommodation. Beyond a short delay at check-in, everything else was very good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. While the room was compact, it was spotlessly clean, very well maintained and very comfortable. The icing on the cake was breakfast - a very large buffet with a vast array of fresh options were available. We would thoroughly recommend and would not hesitate to return when next in Rome.

Dear Guest, thank you very much for posting your comment on TripAdvisor. I understand you are an "expert reviewer" and I am really glad reading that you have been very pleased with all aspects of your accommodation at the Hotel Milton Roma: staff helpful and friendly, spotlessly clean, very well maintained and very comfortable, I DO agree about the icing on the cake which is the "Milton Roma Hotel breakfast :)) a very large buffet with a vast array of fresh options available...What more can one ask for….I would like to just say that if you are ever in Rome again it would be a pleasure to host you once again.

Perfect location, friendly staff, terrific breakfasts, what more could you want? The room was compact but we only needed it to sleep in, the noise was minimal, given that this is a city centre, and we were able to reach all the locations we wanted to visit within a very short walk or metro ride. Although there is no restaurant we were delighted with the bistro, almost on the doorstep, recommended by the hotel.

Dear Guest, thank you for posting your comment on TripAdvisor. Your words make me feel very pleased. In your review you describe all the positive aspects of your stay with us: PERFECT LOCATION, Friendly staff and Fantastic breakfasts..The Coliseum can be reached in less than 10 minutes walking. The Saint John in Laterano Basilica, the Saint Mary Major Basilica and the Saint Clemente Basilica can all be reached in just 5-10 minutes walking...we are also very comfortable with the Subway... 6 stops and you reach the Vatican museums and the Saint Peter Church..we do not have a Restaurant but we are always pleased to recommend our kind guests the best Trattoria restaurants and the best Pizzeria where Romans go, no touristic ..I would like to just say that if you are ever in Rome again it would be a pleasure to host you once again.

Our stay at the Hotel Milton Roma got off to a bad start.
We waited 45 mins past check in time to get into our room.and then the room they gave us (Room 200) was in an out building away from the hotel. The room was on the ground floor and had no windows, just a door leading to the outside, the corridor leading to the room stunk of drains, there were builders in the room next door fixing it up, the shower was open and the sink was in front so in order to use the sink you had to stand in the shower, there we no tea or coffee making facilities and the TV was on the side wall so you couldn't watch it from the bed. We asked to be moved and the reception staff explained it wasn't possible that night but to come back tomorrow morning.
The next morning arrived and we discovered we had no hot water and then the safe (which contained our documents, passports and money) locked and wouldn't open. Reception Staff couldn't open it and luckily in the end the Manager was able to open it. They said once we got back from our trip to the Vatican they would provide us with another room.
When we got back they had gone in the room and moved our suitcase and bags to another room. The new room was a million times better!! The TV was in the right place, there were tea and coffee facilities, the shower was a proper cubicle and there were windows we could open.
Why on earth they try and palm people off by putting them in Room 200 I do not know. It's obviously a disabled room as the bathroom is open and as well as the door from the corridor to get into the room there is an exterior door with a ramp leading to it. I am sure they must get a tonne of complaints from people shoved in that room and rightly so it's advertised as a 4 star hotel and that room is appalling.
Apart from the room issue the hotel was in an excellent location across the road from the Metro and a 10 minute walk to the Colosseum. The breakfast was ok not great. The reception staff were helpful in getting the situation with the room resolved.
However, I wouldn't stay there again as we were in Rome for 3 nights only and when you are somewhere for a short space of time the last thing you want is added hassle and stress.

Room Tip: Whatever happens do NOT get put into Room 200. Room 100 was being built but I can guess thats gonna be just as bad.

We stayed here for a long weekend in the middle of May to celebrate our anniversary. We booked via British Airways and appear to have got a bargain for a flight and hotel package.

After reading several of the reviews on here we were worried about noise etc. However, when we arrived in our room on the 1st floor we were pleasantly surprised. Despite large windows you could barely hear the traffic noise. Yes, you could hear it when the windows were open but that is to be expected right? The room has a/c so at night we switched this on and shut the windows. Simple!

The room was more than adequate and spotless. The bathroom was very clean although the shower did leak a bit due to the shower doors but not a major issue. There was no tea and coffee making facilities in our room which I found odd as others have mentioned that theirs did.

Breakfast was plentiful and there was always plenty of room in the dining room. Staff were always friendly and happy to help when needed. Wifi was flakey in our room but worked fine in the lobby, bar and breakfast room. The hotel also had a laptop which could be used for the internet if needed.

The hotel is across the road from the metro and we purchased a 3 day pass from the self service machines for around 16 euro which made getting around extremely quick and easy. This could be used on the metro as well as buses and trams.

Overall an ideal hotel for a short break in Rome. I would definitely visit again if we are ever back in the city.

I am not sure why all of the guys are complaining. This is Rome for crying out loud.

I did enjoy my stay here. I think it is a gem given that it is not on Termini but pretty easy to get to, and in front of the station. It's not the best hotel in Rome, but for it's price, it is not bad.

Definitely not 4 star, but I won't discount it, given that there are many other 4-star properties in Rome that are in a bad shape.

The only thing that I didn't appreciate, is when I checked in, they changed the room I had been assigned seeing I was alone. For a single room, it is not a bad size.
