“Good hotel”
Reviewed 4 August 2013

We stayed there in July 2013 during a family trip. The hotel has a great location as it is close to the Colosseum and only a few minute walk to Termini station. Great location as far as location for bus or train. From the airport, you can get a bus to Termini and walk two blocks to the hotel instead of getting an expensive cab. It was hot in Rome but AC worked well, breakfast was good, hotel was clean, and the staff was very nice. There are plenty of places to eat nearby.

This hotel is good value for money and in an excellent location just minutes from Roma Termini. The staff are fantastic and very welcoming. Breakfast was nothing special but available from 7-10am. My only criticism was that on level 3 they had ongoing problems with their aircon and as it was August and very hot outside it was a problem sleeping in the evening for the last few nights. We had two rooms and moved to level one for one of the rooms and the aircon was fine here.

Room Tip: Avoid level 3

WE stayed here at the end of June 2013 for 3 nights. We had a huge family room which was big enough for 2 adults and 2 older children. The room and bathroom were spotless. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. Staff very polite. Excellent central location, only 5 minute walk to station and 20 minutes to Colosseum. Great place to stay for a short break in Rome. Would definitely recommend this Hotel.

My husband and I stayed here in July, 2013 for 3 nights. Our room was 122, and overlooked the opera house. The breakfast and coffee were great, as was the location. We were about a mile (an easy, shaded walk) from the Colosseum, and 5 or so minutes to the main train station. We walked there with our bags when we left, it was a breeze. Simone, the concierge in the afternoons, was very helpful. The room was clean and lovely, and the wifi was great (although not free). We also enjoyed the rooftop terrace! Directly across from the hotel is a small convenience store that sells touristy trinkets. They also sell bottled water (quite inexpensive) and Peroni - we grabbed a bottle or two each night and enjoyed it on the lovely rooftop garden. It took several minutes for us to get hot water up to our room, the lift was very, very small, and the shower had a half-wall and made for some awkward showering in order to avoid soaking the bathroom...and the power went out twice (but came back on shortly after I called the front desk). Those were the only concerns we had. Nothing big.

We ate at a restaurant directly across from the opera house, La Matriaciana - it was very, very good. As was Ristorante Allessio (not sure of the spelling there). The location was great! I'd recommend the hotel. Nothing fancy, but clean and pretty!

Room Tip: Ask for room 122 - big bed, great view!

Taking advice from other trip advisor reviews, we emailed before arrival to request a room overlooking the Opera House. The room was small but the balcony made up for it. It was spacious and was equipt with a table and chairs.

During our stay the hotel had major problems with the airconditioning on the 3rd and 4th floors and sadly the air con in our room stopped working soon after we arrived. This made sleeping a problem as the temperature hit 35 degrees most days. After 3 days of being promised the problem would be fixed we changed room for our last night.

The breakfast was as we expected, continental but was adequate for a 3 star hotel. The rooftop terrace was lovely but not mentioned on arrival and the location of the hotel was brilliant for getting to places of interest.

We booked Holiday taxis from the airport but shouldnt have bothered as the termini, "which has an excellent link to the Airport," was only a five minute walk from the Hotel and would have been a fraction of the cost. Also the hop on hop off bus was a great way to familiarise yourself to Rome and all it has to offer. It again was just a 2 minute walk from the Hotel.

We were satisfied with our stay at the Impero. The Hotel is clean and affordable.

Room Tip: Email ahead to request a quiet room. Facing the Opera house is good (The fourth floor has 4 rooms wt...

Stayed here for 3 nights, 4 days. We were so glad to leave.
First of all their is no free WIFI. They make you pay a hefty amount to use their WIFI.
Second the computer for guest usage was out if order. I'm thinking it had been that way for many months!
Third our room AC had a horrible weird smell to it and every time we used it, my nose would get stuffy.
Fourth the rooms were absolutly filthy. The beds had dust bunnies under them and by the second day I had it with the filth so I cleaned everything myself with a towel including the floor on my hands and knees. Plus the maids would not change our sheets so I ended up calling reception for new sheets one day and putting the dirty sheets in the dirty bin myself the third day.
Our window opened up to the streets below and even though we had a nice view, it was so loud and noisy from traffic and people we had to sleep with the smelly AC on.
Overall I felt gross the whole time I stayed their from the dirty floors, to the sheets with someone else's hair on them, to the dirty shower curtain.
Lastly the rooms were incredibly small. I felt like being in a box the whole time.
The whole stay was awful. . Will not ever recommend this place to anyone else! !!!

We stayed for four nights. We got a room next to the road. I felt like I was sleeping on the highway. There was noise from traffic all night long. Actually at 1 AM one morning, I went to the front desk and asked for a new room right that moment, which they did. The new room was on the 5th floor, much better than the one on 2nd floor.
There must be something wrong with the plumbing system as sewage smell permeated the room, It was not very strong, but one could smell it.
The front desk folks were OK, not extremely warm, a bit stiff, but they did answer all the needs of customers.
The breakfast was OK. It was good enough for traveling.
The room was clean, even though a bit small. This is Europe after all.
My advice is that if you are there, definitely ask for a room not next to the street or want a room on higher floors.
