Small hotel, 150 mts from Termini Station, all metro and bus lines close to hotel. The hotel shares the building with other similar establishments, it is on 3rd floor. We are so happy we have chosen that hotel. We receive the best attention ever, staff is excellent, they are on top of every request we might have. Room was enough for a couple, clean, nice. Breakfast was good, and there is always coffee and treats for tea time. We enjoyed our stay and plan to get back!!! Thank you staff of Max Hotel!!!!

The Max Hotel does not deserve its 3 stars. Where to start, there are so many negative points to this hotel:
- despite being located close to the train station, the area is very unsafe especially at night.
- the hotel is quite hard to find from the street and situated in an old residential building shared with other hotels of similar standards.
- the hotel is located on the 3rd and 4th floors with what seems to be an unsafe elevator (under maintenance when we arrived).
- the rooms are tiny and not sound proof (guests shouting at midnight, guest vomiting at 6am, we could hear everything coming from the hallway and the neighboring rooms including regular conversations, keys, etc.).
- the safe was not working so everything had to be locked away in our suitcase.
- the bathroom smells like sewage, the shower is TINY (no place to put the shower gel, has to be put on the floor but cannot be picked up without hitting yourself against the walls) and the towel heater is constantly on high with no way to be adjusted.
- the handle of the bathroom door is very old, heavy and loud and there is no door stopper so it makes it almost impossible to go to the bathroom in the evening without waking up the other occupants.
- over the 3 nights we stayed, the used shower gel bottles were not replaced. Instead the bottles were refilled with water in order to dilute the remaining gel.
- the breakfast area is very cramped and the food selection is very limited.

We stayed at several other places in Rome with a similar price range also located near Termini that were much more pleasant.

Gentile Cliente,

I spent one day before leaving from the (very close) railway station. The hotel has been recently renewed and updated to 3 stars rate, however it provides 4 stars standards in terms of cleanliness, home made food, tea time and staff competency. I'd rather suggest it too for longer, family stay as a great location to start any walk in Rome downtown.

Hotel Max is under new management since Oct 2013. My husband and I spent 3 nights here. The staff are really helpful and friendly, they have a lot of knowledge of the area and can point you in the right direction for everything. Met the owners while there and they truly have put their all into their Hotel. Rooms are very clean, bright and was suitably furnished for our stay there. Breakfast was typically continental and of good quality. Our room was cleaned daily to a high standard. Will definately stay there again. The only downside, which is really a small thing, there are no tea making facilities, which would be nice for that last and first drink of the day.
