“Good place to stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 May 2013

Sleeping beauty is a nice place to stay in Rome. It is conveniently located near the San Giovanni metro, but it isn't really within walking distance of the main attractions. The staff is great, but they have very limited hours. The breakfast is also limited.

Room Tip: I don't think there is much of a difference between rooms.

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Great location - 5-7 min walk from the underground, bus stop at the end of the street and the Colosseum is just 15 mins away.. Cafes and newshops on the street right outside.. There is also a supermarket one street away.
The staff are really friendly and helpful. Let us borrow their guide books and umbrella on a surprise rainy day.
Breakfast was coffee and brownies (?!?!).. The rooms are clean, equipped with tv and dvd player. they also have a pretty decent collection of dvds and books you can borrow.

Room Tip: You will have to ask for the remote to turn on the A/C.

The owner was nice, but this guesthouse struck me as being just an uninspired budget guesthouse for families.
Breakfast was a croissant and espresso from a cafe around the corner.
My wife complained about it being a good walk to the subway.
The rooms seemed very old--need to be updated.

We stayed 5 nights. We would definitely recommend this B&B. The owner is fantasticly helpful and the location is quite good. The room is very clean. It is not a 5 star because of the poor breakfast you take in a café outside with a voucher and the noise of the tram in the early morning.

This is practically an apartment converted in a B&B.

Location is quite good, few minutes walk to San Giovanni metro station. That's very hand in Rome, where public transports really sucks. There is also a train that will take you to Colosseo and Trastevere if needed.

3 Rooms face the busy street and are noisy, although there are good quality windows, that does not help. It gets quieter during the night.

The room is spacious and the bed is very nice. Bathroom is tiny and cheap.

Forget about the breakfast. You get a voucher for a bar where you get just a cold croissant and a small cappuccino.

There is a common room/ kitchen were you can use a microwave and a coffee machine

The place has good potential, because the owners are really nice guys.

It needs a better shower and much much better breakfast and can become the place where to sleep in Rome for a good price.

Another problem is that there is no porter and you cannot leave the luggage there: that means another 10 euro on the top of the bill for the train station storage.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the quite side but I think only one has a private toilette

My friends and I had a great stay at the Sleeping Beauty guest house! I've been traveling through Europe for the past few months and this was without a doubt, my favorite place...the rooms and bathroom were very clean, there's a lot of space, free wi-fi, a kitchen, heat, a/c, and helpful staff. It was also in a good location near the metro and only a short walk (15-20 min) from the Colosseum - everything else is a short walk from there. A few things to note - you have to pay for the room in cash which isn't really such a big deal - just to be aware of it so you bring enough euros with you, and the car service that was listed on the website isn't actually their own private service, it's just one that advertises on there - you can get to the guesthouse easily via bus and then metro, or just take a regular taxi (it's cheaper than the service).

I would definitely recommend staying here! I loved it!!

Can't say enough good stuff about this place. My girlfriend and I have been traveling on a fairly tight budget for the last 4 weeks in Italy, and Sleeping Beauty has been the best hotel we've stayed in. The desk staff was so friendly and helpful, and it's in an excellent location just a short walk from the metro. TV, fridge, nice bathroom and small communal kitchen. WiFi was good and there was a public computer. The only downside was that it was near a tram line that rumbled past on occasion and the double bed was just two singles pushed together, but we were told the beds were being upgraded.
