“Great hotel with access to city”
Reviewed 23 April 2012

Fabulous rooms, a wonderful "salt water" pool, and shuttle access to Rome with the dropoff near the Vatican and Piazza Navonna. It isn't a great location to tour the city from and doesn't look beautiful from the outside entrance, but it is a great spot for a return to Rome the day before your flight out. We got a package that included the breakfast buffet (wonderful) and the shuttle to the city for the family. We just wanted a brief time there since we had toured Rome earlier. The shuttle to the airport is the same price as a taxi, so it just depends on whether the times are convenient. Maybe because it was August, but this was the nicest hotel with the cheapest overall price we had for the entire trip! Also, the view from the patio dining over Rome after sunset was lovely. Wish the pool was open after 2000.

We absolutely loved this hotel and you will too. You can get a shuttle from the airport for a small cost and arrive at the hotel within 5 minutes. The lobby is high with an Italian mural painted on an archway surrounded by shops and their restaurant. the rroms are large, clean and beautiful. We especially loved the spa and the indoor pool. The concierge is excellent and has so much information to assist you in seeing all the sights in Rome. There is a shuttle into Rome and the shuttle stop is close to everything. We really enjoyed this hotel and will return next year. Marriott service and quality is apparent everywhere. Excellent breakfast included in the room price.

We stayed here for 4 nights recently. Rooms spacious and spotless. Breakfast included very good, excellent choice. Near airport but quite far from city centre and no local restaurants that we could find. Good public transport and hourly shuttle bus costing €4. There were 4 of us so taxi for about 13 or 13 euro worked out better

This was a great hotel for me and my husband. We went to Rome on a short notice 4 day vacation. We used points for this hotel and rally didn't know where it was. However it's very close o the airport.....lot so much to the city center though.nwhen we got to the hotel we realized we'd have to take the shuttle into the city center everyday. At 20euro round trip for 2 people, it can get pricey quickly. But the shuttle oes drop you right by Castel San Angelo, just about 6 minutes walk to the Vatican, and minutes from all the other main attractions other than the Coloseum. The hotel room was great, it was off season so the pool was closed. Eat in the city, the hotel is pricey and not many options. Do your research before you go, the concierge is ok but doesn't always have the information you need. Nice to come back and relax in a big hotel room, rather than small one in the city. Would recommend, look forward to going back to Rome soon.

I was here on a conference so I wasnt paying the bill - but if I was I would have been dreadfully disappointed if I thought I was coming to Rome. From the outside it looks like a prison - high security fencing reminds you that this is not a great area - but its a Marriott so it must be good mustn't it?? Well not really. However the bedrooms are very good - the marriot trademark beds are wonderfully comfortable and a strange bathroom arrangement - one room with bath and basin, other with shower loo and basin, actually works well when two people are trying to get ready at the same time. Bar drinks very expensive as you would expect, but normally you have the option of going elsewhere, however here you are completely captive - there is nothing to walk to at all and if you want to go to the 'nearest' restaurant you still need to get cabs (but it is excellent and a fraction of eating at the hotel so well worth it) or its a 40 minute taxi ride into the city.
If you are on business then the decision has probably already been made for you, and as a conference hotel it does what it has to - its huge and impersonal and expensive. But if you are an independant traveller and want to see Rome then stay in Rome - this is not a tourist hotel. The weather was lovely while we were there but there was nowhere to sit out - the lovely gardens around the pool were gated and locked despite it being 30 degrees, so apart from a small number of chairs outside the bar area the only other option was to pay to go into the spa from which you have access to a very small garden area with sun chairs and trees - but for someone wanting an hour in the fresh air between meetings there is nothing at all - its quite incredible. This hotel is firmly bottom of my list of hotels I would choose to return to. Having stayed in approximately 40 hotels in the last 12 months of variing qualities its quite something to say there is nothing whatsoever to warrent staying here when there are so many other options available.

Room Tip: If you dont like a hike before bed-time then ask for a room near the lifts - the corridors are the l...

While located in a bit of weird place (looks like an industrial park, complete with gated entrance), the Marriott Park hotel offers very comfortable, large rooms and excellent food and service.
Positives:
- Beautiful lobby (soaring trompe l'oeil ceilings, plush chairs)
- Great food options (I'm vegan and I found plenty to satisfy me, though would have loved to see oatmeal at breakfast)
- Large rooms with comfortable beds and spacious bathrooms

Negatives:
- Odd location, difficult to get to
- Internet service is slow; I had to buy an upgrade to get a decent connection
- The layout in the bathroom is odd - no place to hang hand towels except over the bath tub, and the shower is odd. The glass door opens out, which means that any towel you put down gets pushed across the room - so you step out with wet feet and then things get slippery...

I recently completed a very quick 2-night stay at the Rome Marriott Park Hotel where I was speaking at a large conference.

The hotel is simply massive, with a very impressive lobby -- soaring ceilings, a restaurant and large bar area and dozens of red sofas for relaxing -- and, sadly, the ONLY WiFi option in the entire hotel.

My room was huge! King size bed with a half-dozen assorted pillows -- a marble bathroom with a great shower AND a large, deep soaking tub. It also had the largest balcony I've ever had, overlooking the pool and palm trees. The Marriott also had one of the very best gyms I've found.

I really do wish my stay had been longer -- and the ONLY reason I've given the hotel 4 instead of 5 points is because of the lack of wifi in the guest rooms.

Room Tip: I imagine all of the rooms are fine -- BUT -- the 6th floor has a huge convention/banquet room that...
