“great choice in Rom”
Reviewed 18 April 2008

We stayed for three nights in this excellent B&B. We particularly liked the size of the room (and bathroom) and the breakfast served every day in the room. It is close to the Vatican area and a 15 to 20 minutes walk from the inner city center. We would recommend it to everyone wishing to relax a few days in Rome.

We had a wonderful stay at the Sistina in June 06. We were suitably impressed by the size of the room and toilet. The place was immaculately kept and the breakfast spread was truly indulgent! The staff were also extremely helpful. If i were to return to Rome, I would choose to stay at sistina again in a heartbeat!

Room is clean, spacious and pretty as described and portrayed on their website.

Breakfast was wonderful every day, as described.

The vincity was quiet and peaceful. We felt safe around that area. Being offsite from all the touristy attractions was not a problem at all, because we could enjoy the serenity and neighborhood-liness that would otherwise be missing in the very centre of the city.

Having a lift (though a small but one that never failed) is a definite plus! I wonder whether other B&Bs have lifts?

We absolutely loved Sistine B & B! We are mid-vacation and had to write and let everyone know what a winner this b & b is. In fact, on the first night my husband was ready to write the review he was so pleased with the service. We phoned before our flight on Sunday, and they arranged a driver to pick us up at the airport for 50 euros. The driver was prompt and courteous. He took us on a small tour of the city on the way to the b&b.

Since our flight arrived in the early morning, we were lucky to check-in early because the room was already vacated and cleaned. Irene even brought us our first cups of espresso.

The room and bathroom were adorable and more importantly spotless. The linens were crisp and fresh. My husband was able to use the down pillows and comforter. They also accomodated me with synthetic pillows and comforter.

The breakfast was amazing! Everything was delicious. Irene took great care of us.

Unfortunatley I suffered from a severe allergy attack which kept me in the room for two days straight. Fortunatly, I was at the Sistine, which made it (almost) ok.

  • Liked — Customer service and breakfast.
  • Disliked — Internet connection was slow.

My family was able to stay for the last two nights of our whirlwind wedding week in Italy. I chose the Sistine B&B for its location and price. No one was disappointed! The room was nicely furnished and the view of the neighborhood outside was picturesque. The person running the B&B, Rudolpho, was very hospitable and was able to give us some transportation suggestions during our short stay. Only one minor thing I would like to point out is the elevator to the rooms. If you are not used to old european style elevators (very small and slow) it may surprise you. It did our parents, but was all part of the experience! I would not hesitate to recommend the place! - Joel from Seattle.

  • Liked — Location, room comfort, and great breakfast!
  • Disliked — Multiple elevator trips hauling the parent's luggage to/from the rooms.

This is a superb place as described by others with a bountiful breakfast and amazing thoughtful touches and amenities. 5 Euro phone card in the room good for about 2 hrs to U.S., free local calls, nice map of Rome, laptop with hi-speed in foyer, mini-bar with reasonable prices, lush towels and nice bath, 300 count duvet cover and pillowcases. There is also a small DVD, paperback, and guidebook library.

We just spent five nights and highly recommend it. Do not miss this - best deal in Rome!
