“A wonderful stay...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 May 2012

We spent 5 nights in the blue room and enjoyed every moment of our stay. The breakfast was delicious, our room with private terrace wonderful and the whole house had a wonderful serene feel to it. The owner Luisa and the staff make this a very unique personal accomodation experience. Without hesitation we will recommend this accommodation to all our friends that travel to Rome. The area of Trastevere was also wonderful and so close to everything we wanted to visit in Rome.

Room Tip: The private terrace is wonderful after a busy day out sightseeing if only to enjoy a cup of tea or g...

We stayed just over 1 week in this beautiful home. It was very serene and charming. Our trip to Italy was the second leg of a wonderful European vacation and after staying at a few hotels, I found this B&B very relaxing and refreshing. The home owner and decorator, Luisa, certainly has put a lot of consideration and passion into decorating each room.
It was not an issue to come and go as we pleased (sometimes leaving very early in the morning for tours and other times getting in very late from a night out). Walking up the cobblestone streets and entering a home like a local was very unique. The area was quiet.
However, with a short walk around the corner--there are many great restaurant, shopping, and bar options. We received a few great recommendations from the inn's concierge, David. Two that come to mind are Ristorante Da Fabrizio and Dar Poeta (pizza). David even helped to arrange reservations (a must on weekends) for us. There was never a question he couldn't help answer or didn't offer to find out for us--very helpful.
Luisa recommended that we take a walk up to Gianicolo for an extraordinary sightseeing opportunity of all of Rome--only a 10 min. walk. She was also very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and giving suggestions.
When traveling, each day seems so jam packed because there is of course, so much to see. It was wonderful to start each morning with an amazing breakfast spread (breads, pastries, fresh fruit, coffee) that was prepared by a wonderful staff cook in the home.
It was a quick walk across the Tiber River and be in the heart of Rome and all of the historic sites. The driving in Rome is absolutely crazy--so being able to walk everywhere was great.
The only time we had to take a cab was to head to the train terminal, Termini (which is not a must, but if you don't have a lot of time to spare--a cab is a good idea).
We stayed in the orange room (I believe) on the 1st floor. Having a lot of luggage with us, it was a bit snug-but, certainly not tiny. We were also able to access wifi, which was convenient.
Overall, the trip was fabulous and only made better by a wonderful place to stay! I would recommend to anyone.

With only 3 rooms to choose from we opted for the blue room with private garden, which was stunning. Great breakfast, clean quaint room and amazing upstairs private garden. Owner Luisa has her gallery in the building and her dog Tinto is a lot of fun. Located in Trastevere behind a large wall it is tucked away from the outside world. A short stroll to the heart of Trastevere and the amazing La Scala restaurant we were in heaven. This is the Roma the locals love and the passeggiata there is the best. A first class B + B

just got back from 6pm's here- rented blue room and green room for daughter and BF- have been to Rome several times and stayed in Trastevere before but this is very quiet-like a tomb- which I require- spotless-wonderful FULL breakfast- perfect area for restaurants-bars-shopping and walking everywhere in Rome-Green room is much better than Blue even though Blue costs more- David- who takes care of breakfast- checking in- housekeeping- etc, is wonderful- friendly, helpful, quiet- would like to find someone like him to work in USA- sheets and pillows best quality and great hot water and water pressure!! all this makes for a comfy stay- cons are wifi is not always "strong" no phones in room, so hard to communicate with other rooms if friends are staying or have wake up call- owner very helpful making dinner reservations.

Room Tip: only stay in Green room if possible

We just returned home from a 5 night stay at Luisa's amazing "Buonanotte Garibalidi". We rented out the entire home, a perfectly curated Italian home in the beautiful Trastevere neighborhood (close to everything!!!) of Rome. Family and friends stayed with us (total of 6 is still very comfortable with nice privacy). We had the "blue room", on the second floor, with a ridiculously large terrace. The onsite butler takes care of your every need. This has quickly become one of our few repeat destinations - both city and lodging. We'll definitely be back.

Room Tip: Blue Room has the great private terrace. Next to the owner's bedroom, who is completely accommo...

This was a great find. We loved everything about this small, gorgeous hideaway in the best spot in Trastevere, near all the quaint corners, shops and cafes which make this part of Rome so enormously attractive. The room we had (green room) was super-comfy and convenient, bed was huge and comfortable and bathroom a bit tiny but perfectly arranged and good facilities. A delicious breakfast was served in the stylish dining room featuring textile designs by the owner, Luisa, off the beautiful green and shady courtyard (but you could eat outside under the trees if you liked) and there was a lovely sitting room with classical music wafting (subtly) around. (heavenly, after some pop-music infested places we've stayed in in Italy) One of the best things was the impeccable attention and kindness of the staff here - David was absolutely amazing, nothing was too much trouble for him, he gave us lots of help with all we needed to know and he was thoughtfulness personified. (Thank you, David!) If only all hotels could be as welcoming and relaxing and comfortable as this one. A real treat. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Room Tip: Only 3 rooms to choose from - the green room is huge and comfortable and very quiet.

We have just returned from a short 2 night break in Rome, We found the B & B through Sawdays website and as it was our anniversary hoped it would live up to expectations. It most certainly did, the outside belies what exists behind the metal doors, a peacefull, tranquill haven in the middle of the bustling trastevere district. We stayed in the blue room and enjoyed being able to share a glass of wine at the end of a busy day whilst sitting on our private terrace. We met an ecclectic mix of people over breakfast each morning and would whole heartedly recommend Buonanotte Garibaldi to anyone visiting Rome.

Room Tip: For a slice of luxurious privacy, the "blue room".
