“Good place to stay in Rome. Would recommend it to friends”
Reviewed 8 June 2013

We were recommended this B&B by a friend who lives in the same building. It's near the Termini Station and a short 10 minute walk from the Colosseum. It's housed in an old Roman building and has a lot of character. It's a fairly basic accommodation, but its clean and the host is very friendly and approachable.

This suited me perfectly. I wanted something that was not to impersonal and was handy for the places I wanted to travel to.
The hosts were very helpful and I had a great time.
I found the hotel through skyscanner.net which was great

I stayed here overnight in late October 2012. The B&B is not difficult to find, although it could be daunting for a first-time visitor to Rome.

The room was very clean and huge, and had a huge window overlooking a quiet street. René, the owner, was very helpful and had great recommendations. There isn't much for food around in the late night though, but Termini is close by and there are places open.

I would stay at this B&B again.

The Little Italy Bed & Breakfast is quite convenient to the Main attractions in Rome. It is situated nearby the Termini. And René was really nice and hospitable. For The fact that we arrived quite late in Rome and he patiently waited for us and welcomed us. Room is spacious and clean.

Within about 15 minutes walk from Roma Termini railway station. Little Italy B&B is not located in the most pleasant of areas, a neighbourhood which seems to consist entirely of immigrants from Asia whose albeit innocent habit of hanging around street corners and in doorways often made it quite uncomfortable walking around the area, especially at night. The B&B is located in a side street hidden behind enormous wooden doors which lead towards a rather pleasant courtyard. Access to the fourth floor is either by several flights of stairs or by using a rather antiquated narrow lift with just about enough room for two people and a suitcase. As one emerges onto the fourth floor lobby, open to the central courtyard, the greeting from owner Rene standing at the door of the B&B is warm and very friendly. He is a very pleasant Dutchman who has lived in Rome for more than two decades and thus becomes a willing source of information to help your stay in the eternal city become even more enjoyable.

The B&B consists of a long corridor off which are five bedrooms. We were lucky enough to be allocated with a bedroom without a glass window: it is noted that other reviewers have spoken of light streaming into their bedrooms at night. The bedrooms are very basic. Our bed was nice and firm but the pillows were too thin and required folding several times to get a good night's sleep. There was a small portable television with access to Italian TV and this was perched on top of a small fridge. A table and a large wardrobe completed the furniture. The B&B boasts two bathrooms. One bathroom off the corridor consists of a basin, bidet, toilet and shower squeezed into a very narrow corridor; this also has a glass window which was rather disconcerting. The second bathroom was located off the kitchen, another narrow room with basin, bath/shower, bidet and toilet. We both felt that whilst both bathrooms were kept very clean, they could have done with some modernising. In both cases, the shower heads were in dire need of replacement with water leaking from the tube. Plugs appeared and disappeared at random. However our biggest gripe was the fact that these two bathrooms seemed to be quite inadequate for full occupancy of the B&B. We're in Rome; everyone wants to get our early to enjoy the city. Having to stand around in a virtual queue waiting for the bathrooms doesn't help, especially when one particular morning a fellow guest spent almost 45 minutes in the main bathroom, preferred by everyone since the second bathroom had no plug and the shower head was less than effective. Time wasted. Breakfast was a simple affair of cereal, fresh rolls and jams as well as freshly-made coffee and tea-making facilities as well as a range of fruit juices. Rooms were cleaned daily and towels replaced every day.

The B&B is just 15 minutes walk away from the Colosseum and further quarter of an hour walk from the centre of Rome. For those who prefer not to walk, access to the cheap Metro is just around the corner. We can recommend two excellent restaurants within minutes walk - the Trattoria Vecchio Roma (almost 100 years old) and Osteria Angelino which has been around for even longer - but one needs to make reservations at both. It may be a relative grimy area but both these restaurants are very popular and in the former people were queuing for a table at 10pm on a Thursday night! Neither are open on Sundays.

Room Tip: Request a room without a glass window.

Stayed for two nights with friends and family. Such a good price at 40 Euros each a night. The B&B is set within a block of old stylish apartments with a sense of real Italian life.Located close to the Termini Train Station, easy walking distance, in an area that is incredible good value for Rome, coffees for 1 Euro! and Fab restaurants. 15 minute walk to the Colosseum. The apartment had a modern well equipped kitchen and shower room with a high fixed shower and a lower detachable shower head. The beds were comfortable and rooms impeccably clean. Breakfast consisted of Juice Tea or fresh coffee , bread/ toast and cereal. This a glowing review however the best is still to come....Rene was a wonderful host. He was so friendly and clear with his communications.Excellent English. He answered all of our questions and gave us so many top tips about visiting attractions. This saved us valuable queuing time and Euro's enabling us to make the most of our first (of many I hope)trip to Rome. During our stay we had to deal with a personal problem, Rene was so understanding, helpful and kind. Thanks Rene!
