“Rome's hidden treasure!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 October 2012

I have had the pleasure of staying in the Hotel Benedetto many times and look forward to planning my next stay in this hotel in Rome as soon as possible. Although I am 100% sure that I will continue to stay in this hotel during my vacations in Rome, I decided to check out your website. I, however, stumbled across a comment from another visitor which I found extremely disturbing. Instead of listing the positive and negative aspects of the hotel, this person decided to verbally attack its’ owner, to slander him in a public forum, an act which is morally and legally unacceptable!! During my stays in the Hotel Benedetto, I had the pleasure of getting to know Mr. Di Pietro. He is fluent in many languages and, aside from being very intelligent, possesses a remarkable understanding and knowledge of other cultures. I find the accusation that Mr. Di Pietro is obsessed with cats simply absurd. Anyone who knows anything about the Roman culture knows that cats were and are an essential part of Roman tradition. Mr. Di Pietro does not worship cats; he simply introduces his guests to “a sensitive part of human Roman legacy”, a service that many hotels simply do not offer. For those of you looking for a place to worship felines, I am sorry to tell you that Mr. Di Pietro will not be able to help you with that problem. I recommend planning your vacation in Egypt; there you can find many shrines and even a few museums to fit your needs. For those visitors looking to experience the authentic Roman culture, the Hotel Benedetto can offer you a rare selection of historical maps dating back to the 1840’s and soom examples of Etruscan vases in the lobby.

We booked our stay through a befriended Roman Catholic priest.
He explained us how to contact the hotel's owner.
The hotel has an excellent price rate and a good Public Transport connection to Rome's center.
Hence, it's an easy walk down the hill towards a subway station.

Warning from hotel owner about public transport : Keep your things really really close to you!!

The hotel owner as well as his personnel are very friendly and helpful.

  • Liked — The friendlyness, public transport nearby and useful information from personnel.
  • Disliked — No breakfast possible at the hotel. Nevertheless, the hotel lies next to a very good breakfast/lunch/dinner restaurant!! Ristorante Benedetto! It's owned by family of the hotel owner!
