“Horribly noise..never again”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 June 2014 via mobile

Excellent location and nice staff but not a hotel for light sleeper.Boys and girls in the street were screaming and singing till 3 a.m. I am still wondering why the police did n care to take actions against these persons shouting in the residential area?

Dear Guest,

First of all, thank you very much for taking the time to share your comments regarding your recent stay at the Ivanhoe Hotel, despite your disappointment.

Be certain I shared with my team your kind words and I am sure they will be a great encouragement for them to keep improving.

I am thrilled to see you appreciated our unique location.
“The full Monti, Rome's cool quarter: A stone's throw from Rome's Colosseum, you'll find the up-and-coming neighbourhood of Monti, buzzing with cool bars, fashion shops and traditional restaurants, loved by a loyal local crowd.” (The Guardian, March 2012).

We are in the most vibrant area in the historic centre of Rome, however being tucked away in a lovely old cobbled back street, we enjoy being closed off from the noise of the main street and we like that our rooms are, as very often said in feedbacks, very quiet.
The Ivanhoe is near to everything but at the same time the neighborhood is a world of its own.

There are many quiet souless residential areas in Rome, they are at least 10 km from the city centre, traffic is heavy in the rush hours and public transport is not good, so it will be essential to have a car if you choose to stay in one of them on your next visit to Rome.

Arrivederci, Stefano De Propris

We visited on a girls weekend away. The hotel is about 10 to 15 minutes walk from the Colosseum, an open top bus stop and the metro stop, great for getting around the city.As with many hotels in Rome the bedrooms and bathrooms are very small with a tiny shower but well equipped with TV,hairdryer and air con etc and spotlessly clean. There are 4 floors(there is an elevator) and a roof terrace accessible via a spiral staircase, great for enjoying a late afternoon glass of Prosecco after a long day sightseeing! In the evening there are a selection of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance serving reasonably priced food.Breakfast is included in the price at the hotel with a good selection of cold meats, cheeses, croissants and cakes .Egg dishes and speciality coffees are freshly made at your request. The only reason that I have given this hotel a 4 rating and not 5 is because taxi drivers, strangely, didn't know where it was- so remember to ask for a card with the hotels address on it! Secondly ,the hotel bar had a limited choice of drinks, we had to wait for the wine to cool and they didn't have anything we asked for.The best thing about the hotel is the staff. The all made us feel welcome and at home. The receptionist was the best in any hotel I have stayed in and the lovely housekeeper even came to say goodbye to us.We had a great time and would book this hotel again. This hotels is great for couple, families and friends who want to stay in a quiet, less touristy area of the city yet close to all the sights.

Room Tip: The corner rooms have two windows and a bit more room, but not much! Our room (a middle room) had a J...

We stayed here for 3 nights May 2014. Hotel is only 10 minute walk from Termini station & same to the Coliseum. Rooms are small but perfectly adequate for sleeping & very clean. Staff all friendly & helpful. Breakfast included in price which was very nice with varied choice of food. I would use this hotel again myself as idle base for short break..

Just got back from a long weekend break in Rome staying at the Hotel Ivanhoe on Via Urbana. The hotel is in a great location, easy to get to from Termini Station either on foot or by metro, in a lovely part of the city with lots of excellent restaurants. The staff were all very helpful and I especially enjoyed the delicious breakfasts and relaxing on the roof terrace.
The room itself was clean and comfortable with excellent wifi reception. In fact the only negative I can think of is the small shower, but as other reviews have stated it is only a small inconvenience.
I would definitely stay at this hotel again. (hopefully I will get the chance...I did throw some coins in the Trevi Fountain!!!)

Visiting Rome for the first time the Hotel offered everything we needed. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the room was just right for a short stay. Rooms are small but very clean and towels were changed daily, which we were not expecting. Much closer to the sights than we thought. The Colosseum is right on your doorstep. We were given a full explanation of the city when we arrived which was really helpful and helped us to get our bearings really quickly. Would definitely stay here again and have already recommended it to friends. On leaving, the receptionist called us a taxi which, i'm guessing, was linked with the hotel. He was really friendly and the journey was really comfortable (A lot better than a standard taxi) Really happy, would visit again!
