“Great location, great service.”
Reviewed 27 June 2014

I booked this hotel through reading the hotels reviews and was not disappointed, very clean and the service was superb. Has a good location with the Metro only a two minute walk away, the breakfast buffet was good and catered for all appetites.
The room was small but was very clean and had everything needed for a comfortable stay.
Surrounded by restaurants I can reccomend "La Vacca M'Briaca" for good food, wine and service which is one minute walk from the hotel.
I would certainly stay at the Ivanhoe again if ever visited Rome again.

Good location, next to metro and walking distance from main train station. Street has good restaurants if you dont want to venture far. All staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was great. Hotel was very clean. Only thing was that bathroom was very small which I think would be a problem for heavier guests. However, for me this was a small issue and the rest of the stay made up for it. Would happilu stay here again.

I found this hotel throug Tripadvisor, and lucky me ;)
The hotel Ivanhoe is one of the cleanest hotel i ever stayed in, and i spend aprox 40 nights every year in hotels, so i can tell.
We was met by a extremely kind staff every day all over, and was very pleased.
For a couple who wants to se Rome the hotel are in the center of it all, and in walking distance to must of the "must see" locations.
The area holds some of the best local restaurants as well.
Il´ll deff be back.. (^_^(

Room Tip: You only need a good bed and a great breakfast! And you got it here! :)

We stayed at this hotel for two nights during our recent trip to rome,i read the reviews on tripadvisor when i found the hotel before booking and eveyone was right, it is a perfect location, a minutes walk to the metro and also situated if you want to walk to all the sights.
Now the hotel itself i would rate as a 3 star for the main parts of the hotel except the bedrooms which if like the one we had i felt was 2 star..
The hotel was spotless as were the bedrooms to be fair and the breakfast was good, more than enought to keep you full until lunchtime.
The staff were very pleasant and helpful.
We checked in and once we got to our room i found that the hairdryer was broken, the receptionist promised to get it fixed, on our return a few hours later it was not but the receptionist obtained a hairdryer for me and i used this until we left.
The room was fairly small which was fine as you do not spend a lot of time in your room anyway, but the bathroom as other people had written was extreamly small, i hadn't quite expected it to be as small at it was, the shower i could only just fit in and i'm a size 12 and 5ft 1 i struggled to shower comfortably.
A note for other travellers that might book this hotel the outside roof terrace you have to use a very tiny narrow metal spiral staircase to reach.
There was a coffee shop right outside with a lovely decking area which sold drinks in the evenings at a very reasonable price. it was nice to be able to sit outside in the evenings with a drink.
Also i did not notice when i looked at the hotel website which was an error on my part but the rooms have no room safe so the only place to leave your passports is with reception.
This probably sounds a negative review and i do not want it to be we got a really good deal for the two nights but i would have been disappointed if we had paid the normal price for this hotel,
and it didn't quite match up to other 3 star hotels i have stayed in.
If asked the question would i stay again, i would probably look for another hotel as after walking around there were plenty of hotels in the same vicinity for a 10 minute walk away.

Excellent location and nice staff but not a hotel for light sleeper.Boys and girls in the street were screaming and singing till 3 a.m. I am still wondering why the police did n care to take actions against these persons shouting in the residential area?

Dear Guest,

First of all, thank you very much for taking the time to share your comments regarding your recent stay at the Ivanhoe Hotel, despite your disappointment.

Be certain I shared with my team your kind words and I am sure they will be a great encouragement for them to keep improving.

I am thrilled to see you appreciated our unique location.
“The full Monti, Rome's cool quarter: A stone's throw from Rome's Colosseum, you'll find the up-and-coming neighbourhood of Monti, buzzing with cool bars, fashion shops and traditional restaurants, loved by a loyal local crowd.” (The Guardian, March 2012).

We are in the most vibrant area in the historic centre of Rome, however being tucked away in a lovely old cobbled back street, we enjoy being closed off from the noise of the main street and we like that our rooms are, as very often said in feedbacks, very quiet.
The Ivanhoe is near to everything but at the same time the neighborhood is a world of its own.

There are many quiet souless residential areas in Rome, they are at least 10 km from the city centre, traffic is heavy in the rush hours and public transport is not good, so it will be essential to have a car if you choose to stay in one of them on your next visit to Rome.
