“Avoid At ALL Costs”
Reviewed 10 June 2014

Although the neighborhood is a nice quieter area of Rome, the room I stayed in was way too small for two people. There is no air conditioning and no ice machine. I doubt the floor has actually ever been cleaned properly. The bathroom appears decent, but the water temperature of the shower is extremely in consistent, not to mention the entire bathroom is the shower. There are also a lot animals that make a ton of noise throughout the day and during the night.

Room Tip: Chose a basement room because they do not get as hot.

We stayed here during a trip this september. The hotel is located in a fairly fancy residential area; the hotel itself appears to be a converted villa, quite beautiful, located in a nice garden.
The hotel is basic, but it is clean and quiet (which is nice after a busy day in Rome!), the management is friendly, and the room was confortable. The metro stations are 10 minutes away, nice reataurants in closeby Testaccio. Highly recommended!

Having been to Rome a couple times previously, I did not feel the need to be smack in the middle of the hustle and bustle of all the sights. I was going there in December to visit my daughter, who was studying there for a semester. Aside from being near her school, this hotel is situated in a most exclusive area of Rome, the Aventine Hill. The hotel is a converted villa and is nestled among many large villas. The staff were quite friendly and helpful, the room was spacious and comfortable with a window overlooking a back yard complete with ripe citrus. My room had A/C and heat. A short walk down the hill through the neighborhood were many good coffee/pastry shops, restaurants, a great deli and lots of shops. I like to walk, so the fact that it was a good fifteen minute walk to the tourist sector, such as the Colosseum and such was not a problem for me. There is also a decent public transportation system with subway, trams and buses. The price was ideal for Rome at about $45 per night.
