“Great value and location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 August 2013

We stayed at the Hotel Marechiaro for four days in the high heat of July. The accommodation was clean and well kept, the staff were friendly and spoke good English and the location was so ideal for tourists! You literally roll out of bed and into the Termini station where there's access to tour buses, the Metro, the overground train and normal buses making all of the sights in Rome, easily accessible.
Air conditioning was available but at 10 euro a day, we thought it was a little expensive. We chose instead to keep our window open over the street. Ear plugs were needed but we came prepared!

For a budget hotel, this was just what we needed: clean, bright and airy with great access to everything we wanted to see!

It is very close to Termini Station (less than 3 minutes walking). If you are traveling to Ciampino Airport this will be very convenient (buses to Ciampino departs from Termini Station). No need to pay more to stay close to the Colosseum or Vatican City, the Metro will take you there or you can walk, you will have something to spot every two blocks! The bathroom was really nice!! clean and big. They have nice restaurants in that area.

Biggest drawback is they dont have internet connection and the breakfast they serve is just 1 croissant, yogurt and tea/coffee.

I saw quite a lot of negative reviews on this hotel and I have to say my experience was quite the opposite. If you are booking what is clearly a very cheap hotel then you need to alter your expectations accordingly. It was very basic but clean, comfortable and central. The staff were pleasant and although there were some hidden extras (air conditioning an addtional 10 euros a night, leaving your luggage there for the day of checkout an extra 5 euros) they werent extortionate so we really didnt mind. If you want cheap and cheerful and a great location for a weekend break then this is perfect for the price.

I was staying on march for 4 nights. So I can recommend this hotel for short staying during peak off season if you want to save money. Good price for the budget hotel. Great location (close to Termini station and some attractions). Very pleasant and helpful staff. No internet, but there is wifi in restaurants around. Everything was ok, except lack of light in the room.

It is un imaginable to expect such a nice service in any where in Roma with the cost we spent. The personnel were very courteous and available in any case...
The breakfast was good with fresh juice and croissants and Italian cappuccino... I must come back and definitely recommend This hotel to Others.....

Great location being so close to Termini. The room is very small but is clean and most of the staff is very friendly. Shower didn't work for us one day and you'll most likely hear the people in the next room over but it's a good enough hotel for the price if you're just looking to rest your head after taking in the sights.

First the good things:
The location is great, close to Termini station and easy to find. The room was clean. Bed was good. The staff is friendly except one.

But,
We asked for a quiet room. We got a room that must be the most noisy: next to the reception, at the street side.

The room was too hot: you can't turn the heater out. It must have been 30 degrees Celsius in the room. The Italian guy lied that he would fix it. The nice maid told us that was impossible because the whole hotel has the same temperature. So we opened the windows at night, but it was really noisy outside. We were told we could not change rooms, even though it was sunday morning and a lot of people had checked out.

The towels are more like bed sheets and smell like vinegar, and one towel had a hole.

The bathroom was so small: you van shower and use the bidet at the same time. The shower was good though!
Bathroom smelt bad.

Breakfast: it's just cookies and coffee/tea. Get your breakfast elswhere. But even better: don't go to this hotel.
